The complete St. Clair County Sheriff's Office  News Release March 23rd, 2021 through March 29th, 2021

Sheriff Lee Hilty reported deputies made seven arrests and took multiple reports during the week of March 23rd, 2021 through March 29th, 2021.

 

Arrests

                                                                                                          

Hudgens, Jeffrey - On March 23rd, Jeffrey Hudgens, 51, Osceola, was arrested by a St. Clair County deputy on a St. Clair County Failure to Appear warrant for a Misdemeanor charge of Assault - 4th Degree - Pursuant to Subdivision (1), (5). The bond was set at $5,000 cash or surety.

The arrest was made after St. Clair County deputies performed a traffic stop on the vehicle Jeffrey was the passenger of, for failing to stop at a stop sign.

 

Phillips, Nicole - On March 23rd, Nicole Phillips, 38, Osceola, was arrested by a St. Clair County deputy for a Misdemeanor charge of Hindering Prosecution. Nicole was booked and released, pending formal charges.

The arrest was made after St. Clair County deputies performed a traffic stop on the vehicle Nicole was the driver of, for failing to stop at a stop sign. Upon making contact with the deputies, Nicole admitted she was attempting to hide her passenger from arrest.

 

Collins, Cassie - On March 24th, Cassie Collins, 34, Kansas, was arrested by a St. Clair County deputy on a Failure to Appear warrant for a Felony charge of Tampering with Motor Vehicle - 1st Degree. The bond was set at $5,000.00 cash or surety.

 

Smith, Lorrie - On March 24th, Lorrie Smith, 48, was arrested by a St. Clair County deputy for a Felony charge of Possession of a Controlled Substance Except 35 Grams or Less of Marijuana/Synthetic Cannabinoid. Lorrie was booked and released pending formal charges.

The arrest was made after St. Clair County deputies performed a traffic stop on the vehicle that Lorrie was the driver of, for multiple lane violations. Upon searching the vehicle, the deputies found a glass plate with a crystal substance on it, that field tested positive for methamphetamine.

 

Lyon, Samuel - On March 25th, Samuel Lyon, 42, Lowry City, was arrested by a St. Clair County deputy for four Failure to Appear St. Clair County Warrants. The bond was set at a total of $40,000.00 cash only.

 

Churchwell, Lesli - On March 27th, Lesli Churchwell, 24, Springfield, was arrested by a St. Clair County deputy for a Felony charge of Possession of a Controlled Substance Except 35 Grams or Less of Marijuana/Synthetic Cannabinoid. Lesli was booked and released pending formal charges.

The arrest was made after St. Clair County deputies performed a motorist assist on the vehicle Lesli was the driver of. Upon making contact with the deputies, Lesli admitted to there being methamphetamine in the car. Upon searching the vehicle, the deputies found a white crystal-like substance that field tested positive for methamphetamine.

 

McDaniel, Patrick - On March 28th, Patrick McDaniel, 41, Nevada, was arrested by a St. Clair County deputy on a Dallas County Warrant for a Felony charge of Non-Support - Total Arrears in Excess of 12 Monthly Payments Due Under Order of Support. The bond was set at $500.00 cash only.

The arrest was made after a St. Clair County deputy was dispatched to Roscoe School in reference to a suspicious vehicle. Upon making contact with Patrick, it was discovered through Dispatch that he had a warrant through Dallas County.

 

Burglary in Lowry City

            On March 25th, a St. Clair County deputy responded to Lowry City in response to a burglary. Upon arrival, the deputy met with the victim who reported that his garage had been broken into and several firearms were missing. The firearms missing include SIG P238, a Remington Single Shot Bolt Action .22 Caliber Rifle, a Ruger 10-22 with a scope, a Ruger Ranch Rifle 7.62 x 39, and a Winchester 94" 45LC. The victim also reported a spotting scope and a range bag missing.

The total estimated value of loss was approximated at $1,975. Photographs of the area were taken, alongside a report.

 

Burglary in Stockton

            On March 28th, a St. Clair County deputy responded to J Highway in response to a possible burglary. Upon arrival, the deputy made contact with the caretaker of the property, who reported that the office had been broken into, and the desks/cabinets had been gone through. The caretaker also reported that a welding helmet, a space heater, and several files/tax papers were taken from the office.

On March 29th, the St. Clair County Sheriff's Office received a call from the caretaker stating that the welding helmet was found on the property, but the other items are still missing.
