The complete St. Clair County Sheriff's Office  News Release March 16th, 2021 through March 22nd, 2021

Sheriff Lee Hilty reported deputies made ten arrests and took multiple reports during the weeks of March 16th, 2021 through March 22nd, 2021.

 

Arrests

 

Bryant, Angelica - On March 18th, Angelica Bryant, 24, Osceola, was arrested on a St. Clair County warrant for a Misdemeanor charge of Assault - 4th Degree - Pursuant to Subdivision (1), (5). The bond was set at $10,000 cash/surety.

The warrant stems from March 3rd, when a St. Clair County deputy was dispatched to Housing in Osceola in reference to an assault. Angelica Bryant had approached the victim, shoved them, and struck them multiple times with a closed fist.

 

Younce, Tina - On March 18th, Tina Younce, 41, Lowry City, was arrested by a St. Clair County deputy for a Felony charge of Possession of a Controlled Substance Except 35 Grams or Less of Marijuana/Synthetic Cannabinoid, and a Felony charge of Unlawful Possession of Drug Paraphernalia - Amphetamine or Methamphetamine. Tina was booked and released pending formal charges.

The arrest was made when a St. Clair County deputy performed a traffic stop on a vehicle Tina was a passenger of, for an equipment violation. During a search of the vehicle, the deputy found a cigarette box, with a plastic bag containing a white crystal substance inside, and a glass pipe with white residue, under the passenger seat. 

 

Riley, Eric - On March 18th, Eric Riley, 47, Osceola, was arrested by a St. Clair County deputy for a Misdemeanor charge of DWI - Prior. Eric was booked and released pending formal charges.

The arrest was made when a St. Clair County deputy performed a traffic stop on the vehicle Eric was a driver of, for a speeding violation. During the traffic stop, Eric admitted to consuming alcohol before driving, and blew over the legal limit during an alcohol breath test.

 

Potts, Dashawna - On March 19th, Dashawna Potts, 25, Kansas City, was arrested by a St. Clair County deputy for a Felony charge of Unlawful Possession of a Firearm. Dashawna was booked and released pending formal charges.

 

Hughes, William - On March 20th, William Hughes, 40, Montrose, was arrested on two Platte County Warrants for Failure to Appear, a Clinton PD Failure to Appear warrant, and a St. Clair County charge of Possession of a Controlled Substance Except 35 Grams or Less of Marijuana/Synthetic Cannabinoid. William was held on a total of $25,250.00 cash only for the Platte County Warrants, $500.00 for the Clinton PD warrant, and was booked and released pending formal charges on the St. Clair County charge.

The arrest was made when a St. Clair County deputy was dispatched to Appleton City in reference to a suspicious person walking in and out of Casey's and laying down on multiple picnic benches in the park. Upon arrival, the deputy made contact with William, whom after identified, was found to have multiple warrants. A search of his person resulted in finding a plastic bag with a white crystal substance inside, that field tested positive for methamphetamine.

 

Kinchion, Lonnel - On March 20th, Lonnel Kinchion, 32, Wichita, was arrested by a St. Clair County Deputy for a Felony charge of Unlawful Possession of Drug Paraphernalia - Amphetamine or Methamphetamine, and a Misdemeanor charge of Unlawful Possession of Drug Paraphernalia. Lonnel was booked and released pending formal charges.

The arrest was made when a St. Clair County deputy performed a traffic stop on the vehicle Lonnel was a passenger of for an equipment violation. A search of the vehicle resulted in finding multiple backpacks, with a ball of black tape containing a clear bag with a white crystal substance inside of it, a used needle, and a glass pipe with burnt residue, inside of them. Lonnel admitted to the bag containing the ball of black tape being his.

 

Scherler, Jeffrey - On March 20th, Jeffrey Scherler, 37, Springfield, was arrested by a St. Clair County Deputy for a Felony charge of Unlawful Possession of Drug Paraphernalia - Amphetamine or Methamphetamine, and a Misdemeanor charge of Unlawful Possession of Drug Paraphernalia. Jeffrey was booked and released pending formal charges.

The arrest was made when a St. Clair County deputy performed a traffic stop on the vehicle Jeffrey Scherler was the driver of, for an equipment violation. A search of the vehicle resulted in finding multiple backpacks, with a ball of black tape containing a clear bag with a white crystal substance inside of it, a used needle, and a glass pipe with burnt residue, inside of them.

 

Johnson, Terry - On March 21st, Terry Johnson, 33, Kansas City, was arrested by a St. Clair County deputy for a Felony charge of Possession of a Controlled Substance Except 35 Grams or Less of Marijuana/Synthetic Cannabinoid. Terry was booked and released pending formal charges.

The arrest was made when a St. Clair County deputy performed a traffic stop on a vehicle Terry was a passenger of for expired registration. A search of the vehicle resulted in finding a glass pipe with residue, that field tested positive for methamphetamine, in the area that Terry was laying down in.

 

Woods, John - On March 21st, John Woods, 36, Centralia, was arrested by a St. Clair County deputy for a Felony charge of DWI - Persistent, a Misdemeanor charge of Leaving the Scene of an Accident, and a Misdemeanor charge of Endangering the Welfare of a Child - 2nd Degree. John was booked and released pending formal charges.

The arrest was made when a St. Clair County deputy responded to Monegaw Springs, in reference to a vehicle that drove through a house. Upon arrival, the deputy observed a Nissan car sticking out of the front side of the house, with the occupants reporting the driver fleeing the scene. John Woods was discovered lying in a ditch, just south of the crash site, and admitted to being the driver of the vehicle. John failed a field sobriety test, and blew over the legal limit during an alcohol breath test.

 

Hernandez, Tony - On March 22nd, Tony Hernandez, 29, Kansas City, was arrested by a St. Clair County deputy for a Felony charge of Driving While Revoked/Suspended. Tony was booked and released pending formal charges.

The arrest was made after a St. Clair County deputy performed a traffic stop on a vehicle that Tony was the driver of, for expired front registration. Upon contact and identification of Tony, it was noted that he was driving on a suspended, and that he had several convictions for driving while suspended/revoked.
