Johnnie Adams

Johnnie Adams- On Aug. 20, Johnnie Adams, 41, Bolivar, was arrested by a St. Clair County deputy on a class D felony endangering the welfare of a child creating a substantial risk-first degree. Adams was placed on a 24 hour hold pending formal charges.

The arrest comes after St. Clair County deputies were dispatched to the Subway Restaurant in Collins in regards to two suspicious people. Deputies arrived on scene and made contact with a male and female at the restaurant. The male, later identified as Johnnie Adams, stated that his truck broke down and they were waiting on a tow truck to get there. The deputy asked for his ID, which was in his truck. While the deputies were talking with the female, Adams went past his vehicle and fled into the nearby timber with his infant child.

A search of the surrounding area resulted in negative results.

At approximately 4 a.m. while a St. Clair County deputy was still patrolling the area, Adams gave himself up to the deputy. Adams still had the infant child with him. Adams was taken into custody without further incident.

Adams also had multiple warrants out of Benton County and a warrant out of Saline County.
