Sheriff Scott Keeler reported deputies made two arrests and took two stealing reports during the week of July 8-15, 2019.

Warrant Arrests

Nicholas Austin

Nicholas Austin- On July 9, Nicholas Austin, 21, El Dorado Springs, was arrested on two St. Clair County warrant for failure to appear in court on original charges of a class D misdemeanor operating a motor vehicle without insurance and a class D felony delivery/possession of a controlled substance at a county/private jail/correctional center except with a written prescription. The misdemeanor bond is $400 cash only. The felony bond is $10,000 cash or surety.

The misdemeanor charge stems from a traffic stop by a St. Clair County deputy in February of 2019.

The felony charge stems from an arrest in March of 2019. Austin was found to have a partial marijuana cigarette on his person during the booking process at the jail.

Aaron Whitlock

Aaron Whitlock- On July 9, Aaron Whitlock, 42, Topeka, KS, was arrested on a St. Clair County warrant charging him with a class E felony passing a bad check. Bond is set at $250 cash only.

Stolen Trailer Out of Collins

On July 14, a St. Clair County deputy was dispatched to a residence off of Coon Creek in Collins in regards to a stolen trailer. Upon arrival, the deputy spoke with Daniel McGuire. McGuire stated that sometime between July 12 and July 14, his utility trailer was stolen out of his back yard. McGuire provided the deputy with the VIN number and description. It is a blue, 16 foot utility type trailer, with a rotted wood floor, dented fender, no license plate, no ramps, and no lights. There was no estimated loss value at time of report.

The deputy took photographs of the area and tried to collect video surveillance from surrounding businesses.

Stealing in Osceola

On July 10, a St. Clair County deputy received a phone call in regards to stolen cattle from a residence off of Highway B. Dennis Swigert wanted to report his cattle stolen. Swigert stated he was notified on July 7 that he might have some cows out, but he did not think they were his. He stated he went to check them on the morning of July 10 and discovered two cows missing. Swigert stated he would notify the Sheriff’s Office if he did locate them. Estimated loss value is $1,600.
