Shooting in Osceola
On Sept. 7, 2018, at approximately 7:20 a.m., St. Clair County deputies were dispatched to the “Port” convenience store for a report of shots fired.
Deputies arrived on scene and found two male subjects lying on the ground, unresponsive, with gunshot wounds. An ambulance crew was requested by the first deputy on scene. Other deputies arrived and secured the area. The ambulance crew arrived and advised both subjects were deceased.
This incident appears to be a murder/suicide. The incident has been handed over to the Missouri State Highway Patrol.
This is an isolated incident and there is no further danger to the public.
Update (3:45 p.m.)
The identification of the men involved in the murder/suicide have been confirmed by the Missouri State Highway Patrol and the St. Clair County Sheriff’s Office. The first victim is Lance Kilgore, 35, of Nixa. The second victim is Charles Sander, 72, of West Plains. Next of kin have been notified.
The investigation has been turned over to the Missouri State Highway Patrol Division of Drug and Crime Control.
