St. Clair County Sheriff’s Office News Updates April May 7-11, 2018

 Sheriff Scott Keeler reported deputies made one arrest, took three stealing reports and one burglary report during the week of May 7-11, 2018.

Warrant Arrests

     Jimmie West Jr.- On May 10, Jimmie West, 43, Cassville, was arrested on a St. Clair County warrant charging him with a class D felony possession of a controlled substance. Bond is set at $10,000 cash or surety.
     The charge comes after a St. Clair County deputy pulled over vehicle West was driving for an equipment violation. The deputy made contact with the driver and identified him as Jimmie West by his driver’s license. West was moving inside the vehicle in a suspicious manner and would not listen to the deputy’s request to keep his hands where the deputy could see them. After multiple requests, West finally listened. A K9 officer was called to the scene and did an exterior sniff test of the vehicle. The K9 did alert to the presence of narcotics. A search of the vehicle revealed a baggie with a crystal like substance in it and a piece of aluminum foil with some residue in it. The baggie tested positive for methamphetamine.

Stealing in Roscoe

     On May 10, a St. Clair County deputy was dispatched to a residence on Ramsey Street in Roscoe in reference to a stealing.
     Upon arrival, the deputy spoke with Gerald Williams. Williams stated that sometime between May 6 and May 10, someone entered into his trailer and took some items. Williams stated that a Craftsman case with tools was missing. He also stated a Milwaulkee Sawzall may or may not have been in the trailer. Total estimated loss value of items is $325. 

Burglary in Collins

     On May 9, a St. Clair County deputy was dispatched to a residence on SE 871 in Collins in reference to a burglary.
     Upon arrival, the deputy spoke with Amy Galloway. Galloway stated when she returned home on May 9th, she noticed her shed door was open. Galloway stated she looked in the shed and noticed her Husqvarna weed eater, Skil Brand skill saw, unknown make of sawzall, gun safe, and a tote with miscellaneous items in it were missing. Total estimated loss value of the items is $550.
     The deputy did observe the damage to the hasp of the shed. Galloway stated there was a padlock on there, but is now missing.

Stealing in Deepwater

     On May 8, a St. Clair County deputy was dispatched to residence on NW 1270 Road in Deepwater in reference to stealing.
     Upon arrival, the deputy spoke with Gary Wagoner. Wagoner stated that sometime between May 1 and May 8, someone took multiple items from his garage on his property. Wagoner stated an old deep freezer filled with scrap metal, four fishing rods and reels, 15 gallon spot sprayer, and a stainless steel mixing barrel were missing. Total estimated loss value of items is $495.

Stealing in Appleton City

     On May 8, a St. Clair County deputy was dispatched to a residence on NW 751 Road in Appleton City in reference to stealing.
     Upon arrival, the deputy spoke with Jennifer Gurley about a missing calf. Gurley stated the calf was last seen on May 7. Gurley stated it was a black and white face heifer, approximately 200 pounds. Estimated value of the calf is $200.
