St. Clair County Sheriff’s Office News Updates Jan. 1-5, 2018
Sheriff Scott Keeler reported deputies made five arrests during the week of Jan. 1-5, 2018.
Warrant Arrests

David Mitchell

David Mitchell- On Jan. 4, David Mitchell, 50, Seymor, was arrested on a St. Clair County warrant charging him with an unclassified misdemeanor of failing to pay fines. Bond is set at $371.50 cash only.

Christopher Gurley
|
Christopher Gurley- On Jan. 3, Christopher Gurley, 34, Lowry City, was arrested on a St. Clair County warrant charging him with a class E felony violation of an order of protection for adult. Bond is set at $4,000 cash or surety.
The warrant comes after Gurley entered a house where the residents had an order of protection against him.

Tanner Devereaux

Tanner Devereaux- On Jan. 3, Tanner Devereaux, 23, Salem, was arrested on a St. Clair County warrant charging him with a class E felony resisting arrest/detention by fleeing-creating a substantial risk of serious injury/death to any person. Bond is set at $5,000 cash or surety.
The charge comes from a St. Clair County investigation into some stolen gasoline from Casey’s General Store in Osceola. A deputy tried to pull over a vehicle matching the description given to him from the Casey’s employee. The vehicle failed to yield to the deputy. The vehicle Devereaux was diving wrecked, and he and the passenger fled on foot from the deputy.

Cody Martin

Cody Martin- On Jan. 3, Cody Martin, 24, Salem, was arrested on a St. Clair County warrant charging him with a class A misdemeanor resisting or interfering with arrest/detention/stop. Bond is set at $2,500 cash or surety.
The charge comes from a St. Clair County investigation into some stolen gasoline from Casey’s General Store in Osceola. A deputy tried to pull the vehicle over and the driver failed to yield to the deputy. The vehicle wrecked and Martin and the driver fled on foot from the deputy.

Ashley Vanderburg

Ashley Vanderburg- On Jan. 1, Ashley Vanderburg, 28, Nevada, was arrested on a St. Clair County warrant charging her with a class D felony possession of a controlled substance. Bond is set at $15,000 cash or surety.
The charges stem from a traffic stop by a St. Clair County deputy on Nov. 17, 2017. During the traffic stop, a K9 did an exterior sniff search of the vehicle, and alerted to the presence of narcotics. A search of the vehicle revealed a plastic bag, that field tested positive for methamphetamines.
