St. Clair County Sheriff’s Office News Updates Oct. 9-13, 2017
Sheriff Scott Keeler reported deputies made six arrests and took a robbery report during the week of Oct. 9-13, 2017.

Lakyn Burns

           Lakyn Burns- On Oct. 11, Lakyn Burns, 19, Springfield, was arrested on a class A misdemeanor charge of domestic assault in the fourth degree. She is being held on a 24 hour investigative hold.
           St. Clair County deputies were dispatched to 4825 SE 871 Rd., Collins, in reference to a domestic dispute between Burns and Jonathon Brigner. Brigner stated that Burns struck him in the face while he was holding their son.

Amanda Robinson

            Amanda Robinson- On Oct. 11, Amanda Robinson, 26, Cabool, was arrested on a St. Clair County warrant charging her with failing to appear in court on an original class A misdemeanor charge of driving while revoked/suspended. Bond is set at $500 cash only.
           The original charge comes from Osceola Police Department on July 9, 2017.

Douglas Sherlin

           Douglas Sherlin- On Oct. 10, Douglas Sherlin, 56, Osceola, was arrested on a St. Clair County warrant charging him with a class E felony of domestic assault in the third degree. Bond is set at $7,500 cash or surety.
           The charge stems from a St. Clair County investigation into a domestic disturbance on May 27, 2017, at 4150 NE 151 Rd., Osceola. Sherlin was intoxicated and had allegedly put his hands on a female individual at the residence.

Aaron Taylor

            Aaron Taylor- On Oct. 10, Aaron Taylor, 25, Nevada, was arrested on a St. Clair County warrant charging him with a probation/parole violation on an original charge of a class C felony of passing a bad check-$500 or more. Bond is set at $10,000 cash or surety.

Charles Phillips

            Charles Phillips- On Oct. 10, Charles Phillips, 59, Appleton City, was arrested on a St. Clair County warrant charging him with two counts of class D felonious possession of controlled substance a class D misdemeanor. Bond is set at $15,000 cash or surety.
            The arrest stems from an attempt to find a person with an active warrant. St. Clair County deputies arrived at Phillips’ house in search of a wanted individual. Deputies asked for and was given consent to search the house for the suspect. A female individual was found in the kitchen. A deputy spoke with Phillips and informed him of reports of drug trafficking at his residence. The deputy asked for consent to search his house for drugs and consent was again given. During the search deputies found methamphetamines and drug paraphernalia.

Ashley Frizzell

             Ashley Frizzell- On Oct. 9, Ashley Frizzell, 30, Golden City, was arrested on a St. Clair County warrant charging her with a class D felony of possession of a controlled substance and a class D misdemeanor of unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia. Bond is set at $10,000 cash or surety.
             The arrest stems from a St. Clair County investigation on Oct. 9, when the homeowner gave deputies consent to search the house that Frizzell was in. When asked if she had anything illegal on her or in her purse, she stated there were broken glass pipes in her purse.

                                          Robbery at Lowry City BP Convenience Store

            On Oct. 8, at around 10 p.m., St. Clair County deputies were dispatched to the BP convenience store in Lowry City in reference to a robbery that had just occurred. When deputies arrived on scene, they were met by employees of the store. The employee described the subject's clothing as black, baggy clothes, black hoodie, black gloves, and a white bandana on the face. The suspect left southbound on foot from the store.
            Statements were collected from the clerk and four people that were in the parking lot prior to the robbery. Video surveillance and other evidence were collected from the scene. The investigation is ongoing.
