News updates from St. Clair County Sheriff’s Office July 17-21, 2017

            Sheriff Scott Keeler reported deputies made four warrant arrests and took reports of stolen vehicles and a handgun during the first part of the week of July 24-28, 2017. There was also one Court Case Update.

Van reported stolen on NE 1021 Road, Osceola

            On July 26, a St. Clair County deputy took a stealing report from Richard Strahle. He reported his 2012 Ford Transit Connect van was stolen from his residence on NE 1021 Road, Osceola. Strahle named a female suspect who was staying at his residence. He noted when he woke up he noticed the van missing and the female subject and her belongings gone. The value of the vehicle was estimated $15,000. A request for prosecution was signed.

Handgun reported stolen

            On July 26, a St. Clair County deputy took a report from Kenneth Gurley in reference to a stolen handgun. Gurley reported a 22. caliber Ruger Single Six revolver missing from his residence on Northwest 451 Road, Lowry City. The value of the handgun was estimated at $629.       

Stolen truck reported in Appleton City

            On July 26, a St. Clair County deputy took a report of a stolen vehicle. Mary Scheer reported 1994 Ford F150 truck was stolen from her residence on North Maple Street, Appleton City. The truck was described as maroon with purple waves down the sides. She stated the truck has been missing since June 6.

Stolen vehicles recovered

            On July 25, a St. Clair County deputy was dispatched to the area near Highway 13 and UU Highway, Collins, in reference to a vehicle in the ditch. Information was received the vehicle was stolen out of Springfield and the suspect fled the scene on foot.

            During the investigation contact was made with Robert Truitt who reported his brown 2015 Chevrolet truck was missing from his residence on SE 975 Road, Humansville. A short time later information was received the truck went off the highway and struck a sign at the Highway 52 off ramp in Henry County. The truck stopped with the airbags deployed.  A Clinton Police Department officer on scene noted the suspect was not there when he arrived. The truck was processed and returned to Truitt.

            Information was received a truck was later stolen from a car dealership in Clinton. The suspect in this case is believed to be the same suspect involved in an early morning incident with Springfield Police Department and Greene County Sheriff’s Office in which a deputy was dragged by a vehicle the suspect was driving. The suspect was taken into custody by Garden City Police Department on July 27.

Warrant arrests

Lucas Boone

              Lucas Boone- On July 27, Lucas Boone, 23, Springfield, was arrested in St. Clair County on a Taney County warrant for failing to appear in court on two class C felony charges of possession of a controlled substance. The warrant was issued on February 21 and bond is set at $10,000 cash or surety. The charge stems from a Taney County Sheriff’s Office investigation on Feb. 3, 2015.

            Boon’s arrest came after a St. Clair County deputy conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle Boone was a passenger in. During the investigation a clear plastic container with white crystal substance inside was located in the vehicle. The white substance field tested positive for methamphetamine. Formal charges are pending from the investigation.

Misty Roberts

               Misty Roberts- On July 26, Misty Roberts, 31, Clinton, was arrested on a St. Clair County warrant for failing to appear in court on a class A misdemeanor passing a bad check-less than $500. The warrant was issued on April 18 and bond is set at $500.00 cash only. The charge stems from an incident on May 18, 2016.

Robert Brison

            Robert Brison- On July 25, Missouri State Highway Patrol arrested Robert Brison, 53, Osceola, on a St. Clair County warrant for failing to appear in court on an original class C felony charge of forgery and class C misdemeanor fraudulent use of a credit device. The warrant was issued on July 13 and bond is set at $1,200 cash only.

            The forgery charge stems from an incident in October 2015 and the fraudulent use of a credit device charge stems from an incident in November 2015.  On Nov. 24, 2015 St. Clair County deputies took a report from Evelyn Schroer in reference to two credit cards being activated in her name and maxed out to the limit. She also reported a $300 debit transaction that was not authorized and a check written to her son, Brison, for $25 was altered to $125. Schroer’s total loss was estimated at $2,114.60. She advised a recent credit check discovered another credit card in her name also.

Ricky Wilson

               Ricky Wilson- On July 25, Ricky Wilson, 22, Humansville, was arrested in St. Clair County on a Bates County warrant charging him with class D felony burglary-second degree. The warrant was issued on July 14 and bond is set at $10,000 cash or surety. The charge stems from a Butler Police Department investigation on May 1.
