News updates from St. Clair County Sheriff’s Office July 17-21, 2017

Sheriff Scott Keeler reported deputies made four warrant arrests during the first part of the week of July 17-21, 2017. There was also one Court Case Update.

Warrant arrests

            Woodrow Gray- On July 19, Woodrow Gray, 44, Appleton City, was arrested on a St. Clair County warrant charging him with four felony and two misdemeanor counts. Gray is charged with class C felony delivery of a controlled substance, class D felony possession of a controlled substance, two class E felony unlawful use of a weapon-subsection 11-possess weapon and a felony controlled substance, class D misdemeanor unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia, and class D misdemeanor possession of 10 grams or less of marijuana. The warrant was issued on June 28 and bond is set at $20,000 cash or surety.

Woodrow Gray

            On Feb. 2, a St. Clair County deputy conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle Gray was driving on Highway 82 near Roscoe. Members of the Mid Missouri Multi Jurisdictional Drug Task Force assisted deputies with the investigation and a small clear bag with a white powdery substance which field tested positive for methamphetamine was located along with a misdemeanor amount of marijuana in the vehicle. Gray was arrested and charged in that case.

            The new charges stem from further investigation the same day which led to a search warrant being obtained for Gray’s residence on NW 601 Road, Appleton City. While the warrant was being served deputies located a large quantity of methamphetamine, a misdemeanor amount of marijuana, drug paraphernalia, firearms, and a large sum of cash in his residence.

Billie Atkinson

                Billie Atkinson- On July 19, Billie Atkinson, 33, Wheatland, was arrested on a St. Clair County warrant for failing to appear in court on several counts, class D felony possession of controlled substance, class A misdemeanor unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia, class B misdemeanor failure to register motor vehicle, an unclassified misdemeanor of no insurance, and class C misdemeanor failure to drive on right half of the roadway. Bond is set at $15,000 cash or surety.

            The original charges stem from a St. Clair County Sheriff’s Office investigation on May 25 when deputies were patrolling on T Highway and conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle Atkinson was driving. During the investigation two glass pipes used to smoke methamphetamine were located in the vehicle. A glass pipe used to smoke marijuana was also located.

Richard Foster

           Richard Foster- On July 18, Richard Foster, 31, Clinton, was arrested on a St. Clair County warrant for failing to appear in court on an original class A misdemeanor charge of theft. The warrant was issued on March 20 and bond is set at $2,500 cash only.

            Foster was also arrested on warrants from Henry County and the Montrose Police Department for failing to appear in court. The warrant from Henry County charges Foster with misdemeanor possession of marijuana, unlawful use of drug paraphernalia, theft, no insurance, operating a vehicle without a valid driver’s license, and no seat belt. The charges stem from a Missouri State Highway Patrol investigation on October 13, 2016. The original charge from Montrose Police Department is an ordinance violation for no insurance on August 11, 2016. Total bond on the two charges is $560 cash only.

John Snethen

              John Snethen- On July 17, John Snethen, 40, Collins, was arrested on a St. Clair County warrant charging him with class D felony abuse of a child and  class A misdemeanor domestic assault-fourth degree-first offense. The warrant was issued the same day and bond is set at $10,000 cash only.

            The charges stem from a St. Clair County Sheriff’s Office investigation the previous day when deputies took a report of domestic violence on SE 1151 Road, Collins.

During the investigation it was discovered Snethen allegedly punched a juvenile in the head with his fist and stated he would to snap the individual’s neck. Snethen was taken into custody pending the formal charge.
