Two reports of
vandalism in
Appleton City area
On April 12, a St. Clair County deputy took a report from Nancy Nelson in reference to someone shooting out her yard light at her residence on M Highway, Appleton City. Nelson stated a representative from Osage Valley Electric was currently at her residence to replace the light and photo cell. The damage to the light totaled $162.94 and appeared to be caused by a small caliber bullet.
During the early morning hours on April 8, deputies were dispatched to a grass fire on NW 800 Road, Appleton City. A property owner reported a vehicle stopped in front of a residence and a gunshot was heard. After the shot, a street light went out and the grass underneath caught fire. Deputies were able to extinguish the fire and a bullet hole was discovered in the light fixture.

 Sandra Marconi |
Sandra Marconi- On April 12, Sandra Marconi, 46, Collins, was arrested on a St. Clair County warrant charging her with class A misdemeanor fraudulent use of a credit device. Bond is set at $2,500 cash or surety.
The charge stems from an incident on March 4. The sheriff’s office investigation started on April 3, when Amber Kindred reported fraudulent activity on her debit card issued to her with the balance of her tax refund from H&R Block. Information was received showing transactions from several dates in March totaling $200.43. Kindred stated Marconi made the transactions without authorization. Several of the receipts show payments made on accounts used by Marconi. Two of the receipts show Western Union money transfers from Kindred to Marconi. It was noted Marconi set up a Western Union account in Kindred's name using Marconi’s e-mail address.
