Sheriff Scott Keeler reported deputies made four warrant arrests and took reports of theft and property damage during the week March 20-27, 2017.

Warrant arrests

Donald Witt- On March 24, Donald Witt, 26, Rockville, was arrested on a St. Clair County warrant charging him with  three felony counts, class D felony possession of a controlled substance, class E felony unlawful use of a weapon- possessing a weapon and a felony controlled substance, and class E felony of delivery of 35 grams or less of marijuana. Bond is set at $20,000 cash or surety.

Donald Witt

The charges stem from a St. Clair County Sheriff’s Office investigation the previous day when a deputy noticed a vehicle sitting at an angle in a field entrance on H Highway with a male occupant leaning forward in the vehicle.

During the investigation contact was made with the driver, Witt, and a pen was noticed in Witt's lap. The pen appeared to have been used to snort illegal narcotics. Further investigation discovered what appeared to be a crystalline substance inside a modified light bulb lying under the driver’s seat. A metal container with two small bags of what appeared to be a crystalline substance was located inside the glove box. A Kel-Tec .380 caliber pistol containing six .380 rounds of ammunition in the magazine was located in the console. A black backpack containing two bags of marijuana, numerous unused small bags, q-tips, and a digital scale was located in the trunk. Admissions were made and the substance in the light bulb field tested positive for methamphetamine. Witt was taken into custody and transported to the St. Clair County Jail.

Jacob Hudgens

Jacob Hudgens- On March 24, Jacob Hudgens, 40, Osceola, was arrested on a St. Clair County warrant charging him with probation violation on an original class A misdemeanor charge of domestic assault-third degree. The warrant was issued March 15. Bond is set $1,000 cash only. The original charge stems from a sheriff’s office investigation on June 19, 2016 when deputies responded to a disturbance on NE 276 Road, Osceola.  Hudgens allegedly struck a female victim with a closed fist and choked her on three different occasions.

Timothy Kreisler- On March 23, Timothy Kreisler, 48, Osceola, was arrested on a St. Clair County warrant charging him with class C felony domestic assault second degree. Bond is set at $20,000 cash only.

Timothy Kreisler

The charge stems from a sheriff’s office investigation in the early morning hours the same day after dispatch received a 911 call from a female screaming for help. Approximately 30 minutes prior to the call, a deputy investigated a domestic incident on NE 601 Road, Osceola, involving Kreisler and a female that resides with him. It was noted the female repeatedly screamed for help saying she was bleeding and a male subject could be heard yelling in the background.

When the deputy arrived, Kreisler was in the living room, but a female was not in sight. Blood was found in a bedroom of the residence. While waiting for additional units to assist, a female approached the back door and motioned for the deputy to come outside. She was crying, visibly shaken, bleeding from her nose, and had several marks on her face.

The female explained Kreisler grabbed her by the hair, pulled her off the couch, slammed her face in the floor, and repeatedly struck her in the face with his fist. Kreisler was taken into custody and transported to the St. Clair County Jail.

Danny Pryor

Danny Pryor- On March 21, Danny Pryor, 50, Louisburg, was arrested on two St. Clair warrants for failing to appear in court on an unclassified misdemeanor driving while revoked-second or subsequent offense and class C misdemeanor exceeding the posted speed limit by 11-15 miles per hour. The warrants were issued on Jan. 25, 2016 and total bond is set at $1,220.

Liquor reported stolen from Shelby’s

In the early morning hours on March 24, a St. Clair County deputy took a theft report at Shelby’s Convenience Store, Lowry City. An employee reported a customer came into the store to purchase a case of beer, a bottle of Fireball liquor, popcorn, and Gatorade. The Fireball was behind the counter and given to the customer. After realizing it was too late to sell alcohol the individual was notified the alcohol could not be purchased due to the time. The employee took the beer back to the cooler while another employee finished the transaction.

After purchasing the popcorn and Gatorade, the customer left the store, but did not return the bottle Fireball to the counter and instead took it. The employee attempted to catch the customer, but was too late. A suspect was named and a vehicle description was given. The case was forwarded to the Lowry City Police Department for further investigation.

On March 23, St. Clair County deputies took a property damage report on West Fourth Street, Appleton City. James Winters reported graffiti painted on the back on the building and on top of the roof.

The cases are under investigation. Sheriff Keeler urges those with any related information to these cases or any others should contact the St. Clair County Sheriff’s Office Tip Line, 417-646-5832, or email to
