The complete St. Clair County Sheriff’s Office News Release and Court Case Updates Feb. 27-March 6, 2017

Sheriff Scott Keeler reported deputies made eight warrant arrests and took two stealing reports during the week Feb. 27-March 6, 2017.

Warrant arrests

Flint Greer

           Flint Greer- On March 6, Flint Greer, 27, Humansville, was arrested on a St. Clair County warrant for failing to appear in court on class D felony possession of a controlled substance, class E felony unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia-amphetamine or methamphetamine. Bond is set at $20,000 cash or surety. The warrant was issued on March 1.

            The original charges stem from a St. Clair County Sheriff’s Office investigation Feb. 8 when a deputy was dispatched to a call of a trespasser causing a disturbance at on SE 1074 Road, Collins. Contact was made with Greer, who had driven to Pilot Travel Center, Collins. During the investigation a crystalline substance was located and field tested positive for methamphetamine.  Several items of methamphetamine paraphernalia were also located

           Ronald Noble- On March 6, Ronald Noble, 47, Independence, was arrested on a St. Clair County warrant for failing to appear in court on an original misdemeanor charge of non support. Bond is set at $2500 cash only. The warrant was issued on Feb. 3.

            Marvin Cox- On March 4, Marvin Cox, 34, El Dorado Springs, was arrested on a St. Clair County warrant charging him with failing to appear in court on an infraction of no seat belt. The warrant was issued on Jan. 18 and bond is set at $10 cash only. The original charge stems from a Missouri State Highway Patrol investigation on Aug. 2, 2016.

Brittany Lavers

            Brittany Lavers- On March 3, a St. Clair County deputy arrested Brittany Lavers, 30, Rogersville, at the St. Clair County Courthouse on three Laclede County warrants for failing to appear in court on an original class D misdemeanor charge of driving while suspended, class C misdemeanor charge of exceeding the speed limit by 11-15 miles-per-hour, and an infraction of no seat belt. The warrants were issued on Feb. 22 and total bond is set at $625 cash only. The charges stem from a Missouri State Highway Patrol investigation on Jan. 12.

            Eric Bell- On March 3, Eric Bell, 26, Osceola, was arrested on two St. Clair County warrants charging him with three felony counts and one misdemeanor count from St. Clair County Sheriff’s Office investigations in July and August 2016.

            Bell is charged with class B burglary-first degree and class A misdemeanor assault-third degree stemming from an investigation on July 31, 2016. Deputies took a report from Darrell Unruh in reference to Bell unlawfully entering a residence on SE 801 Road, Collins. While inside the residence Bell assaulted Unruh.             Bell is also charged with class D felony resisting arrest by fleeing and class D felony driving while revoked stemming from an investigation on Aug. 23, 2016. A St. Clair County deputy witnessed a vehicle owned by Bell exit Pilot Travel Center and travel east on SE 1000 Road, Collins. Witnesses reported Bell was in the driver’s seat. The deputy had previous knowledge Bell’s driving privileges were revoked. The deputy attempted to initiate a traffic stop on SE 1000 Road and Bell refused to yield and increased his speed. During the incident the deputy lost sight of Bell’s vehicle. Several other deputies from St. Clair and Hickory County also searched the area for the vehicle to no avail.  Later the same day a deputy took a report concerning Bell’s vehicle located in a pasture near SE 1000 Road and  SE 1071 Road.

            The warrants were issued on March 2 and served at the St. Clair County Jail where Bell is in custody on non related charges. His total bond on these charges is set at $30,000 cash or surety.

Shane Stewart

              Shane Stewart- On March 3, Shane Stewart, 37, Jerico Springs, was arrested on a St. Clair County no bond warrant charging him with failing to abide by a judge’s order. Stewart is originally charged with class B felony distribution/ delivery/ manufacture/ produce a controlled substance, class C felony possession of a controlled substance, class C felony unlawful possession of a firearm, class D felony unlawful use of drug paraphernalia, and class A misdemeanor unlawful use of drug paraphernalia.

            The charges stem from a St. Clair County Sheriff’s Office investigation on Oct. 27, 2016 when a narcotics search warrant was executed at a camper located in Twin Oaks Harbor, Lowry City. During a search of the residence several items of contraband were located throughout the camper. Items included a crystalline substance that field tested positive for methamphetamine, several new plastic bags, and digital scales.

Jeremiah Madison

          Jeremiah Madison- On Feb. 28, Jeremiah Madison, 19, Springfield, was arrested on a St. Clair warrant for failing to appear in court on a class B misdemeanor charge of exceeding the posted speed limit by 20-25 mph. The warrant was issued on June 8, 2016 and bond is set at $320 cash only. The original charge stems from a St. Clair County Sheriff’s Office investigation on March 25, 2016.

Theodore Trowbridge

           Theodore Trowbridge- On Feb. 28, Theodore Trowbridge, 33, Collins, was arrested on a no bond felony warrant issued by the State of Missouri Division of Probation and Parole. Trowbridge was on parole for class C felony charge of statutory rape second degree. The original charge stems from a Hickory County Sheriff’s Office investigation in October 2007.

Scam call stating from U.S. Treasury

            St. Clair County dispatch recently took a call from a citizen reporting receiving a call from the U.S. Department of Treasury. The reporting party stated the caller left a voicemail stating if the call was not returned they would go to jail.

            According to the U.S. Department of Treasury website there are numerous telephone and email scams in which individuals claim to be employees of the Treasury Department.  These scammers often state that they are from the “Department of Legal Affairs,” and offer grant money in exchange for you wiring a small payment, or threaten to arrest you within a short period of time unless payment is made.

            Citizens are urged to NOT provide personal information or payment to these individuals.  Their actions are crimes under Titles 18 and 31 of the United States Code, and the Treasury Office of Inspector General is working to stop them.      

            If callers claim to be from the Department of Treasury, citizens may report thyem to OIGCounsel@oig.treas.gov with a description.  If it was a phone contact, include the exact date and time the calls were received, the phone number of the caller, the geographic location, the time zone where you received the call, and a description of the communication.

Mailbox reported stolen on NE Highway NN

            On March 5, a St. Clair County deputy took a report of a stolen mail box on NE Highway NN, Deepwater. Monte Rucker reported his mail box and post missing. The mail box was faded red on a pipe set in cement in an old milk can, The can’s bottom was rusted off of it. The value was estimated at $150.

Alcohol reported stolen in Appleton City

            On March 4, a St. Clair County deputy took a burglary report on East Fifth Street, Appleton City. Gerald Fennewald reported someone broke into his garage and stole several bottles of liquor stored there. He stated he received a call a door on his garage was open. A suspect was also named that was seen walking down the alley near Fennewald’s house. Evidence was located and collected from the garage. The value of the missing items was estimated at $500.

            James Lysinger- On March 2, a St. Clair County warrant was issued for James Lysinger, 38, Lowry City, charging him with class D felony non support-total arrears in excess of 12 monthly payments due under order of support. Bond is set at $5,000 cash or surety.           

            James Sprinkle(no photo)- On March 1, a St. Clair County warrant was issued for James Sprinkle, 27, Joplin, for failing to appear in court on a class D felony charge of non support with total arrears in excess of 12 monthly payments due under order of support. Bond is set at $1,500 cash only.
