Sheriff’s office and local police assist student with school project

On Feb. 23, 2017, St. Clair County Detective Jarrod Sherrer, middle, and Osceola Police Chief Devin Shumaker, right, assisted Osceola High School Junior Kelsea Tyson, left, with her FCCLA STAR event on the consequences of driving while intoxicated. Tyson was shown a simulated traffic stop on a driving while intoxicated driver. During the stop, field sobriety tests were demonstrated. In one simulation Tyson acted as the impaired driver to better understand the process an impaired driver would go though during an investigation.
