Sheriff Scott Keeler reported deputies have made two arrests and took reports of theft during Dec. 12-19. He reminds citizens of the annual nationwide “Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over” crackdown to reduce substance–impaired driving fatalities will continue through January 1, 2017.
Vehicle and firearms
reported stolen on W Highway
On Dec. 16, a St. Clair County deputy took a report on SW Highway W, Stockton, in reference to a stolen vehicle and burglary.
Trent Bland reported his silver 1990 Ford Ranger was missing from his driveway when he arrived home. Inside his residence he found his gun safe was moved from his bedroom into the kitchen where its door had been pried open and all of his guns and approximately 1,000 rounds of ammunition were stolen. He noted nothing else seemed to be missing from the residence.
Firearms stolen include a DPMS AR-15, EO-Tech holographic rifle sight, Smith and Wesson M&P 22, Smith and Wesson M&P 9MM, Kimber 1911 .45 caliber, Smith and Wesson M&P shield 9MM, Remington 870 shotgun, Remington Nylon 66, Winchester single shot, and Rossi 22/20 gauge. The total value of the vehicle and firearms was estimated at $6,225.
Theft reported on NE 1126 Road
On Dec. 14, a St. Clair County deputy took a theft report from Johnnie Carroll. He stated
someone came onto his property on NE 1126, Deepwater, and took an 100 foot orange extension cord, a battery charger, a Craftsman rollaway tool box with tools, a set of 3/4 inch sockets in a red box, a red tool box with tools, and a 15-gallon drum with scrap aluminum in it. The total value of the items was estimated at $576.

Peter Creasy- On Dec. 16, Peter Creasy, 23, Appleton City, was arrested at the St. Clair County Courthouse on a Vernon County warrant for failing to appear in court on a seat belt violation. Bond was set at $10.

Mark Buce- On Dec. 14, Mark Buce, 28, Deepwater, was arrested on a St. Clair County warrant charging him with class C felony receiving stolen property and class A misdemeanor resisting/interfering with arrest detention or stop. Bond is set at $15,000 cash or surety.
The charges stem from an incident the previous day when a deputy attempted to make a traffic stop on a pickup truck near NE 501 Road and Highway CC, Osceola. When the deputy activated emergency lights the truck slowed down like it was going to stop then accelerated and continued on NE 501 Road. The truck travelled for approximately one mile before stopping. Buce, who was driving the vehicle, was taken into custody. A check of the vehicle revealed it as stolen from Benton County.
