News Updates from St. Clair County Sheriff's Office

          Sheriff Scott Keeler said deputies made three warrant arrests and took two reports of stealing during the first part of the week Oct. 24-28.

Vehicle reported stolen in Osceola later recovered in Jackson County

            On Oct. 26, a St. Clair County deputy took a stolen vehicle report on NE 451 Road, Osceola. William Buckler reported a dark green 1999 Honda Accord stolen from his driveway. A suspect was named. Later the same day, it was learned the vehicle was recovered in Jackson County by Missouri State Highway Patrol after it was involved in a motor vehicle accident and was towed.

Items reported stolen on NE 276 Road

            On Oct. 25, a St. Clair County deputy took a stealing report on NE 276 Road. John White reported several items stolen from his property. Items included a trail cam, Stihl weedeater, and a Stihl Farm Boss chainsaw.

Warrant arrest

          Andrew Smith- On Oct. 26, Andrew Smith, 40, Osceola, was arrested on a St. Clair County warrant charging him with class D felony unlawful use of a weapon-while intoxicated-loaded weapon. Bond is set at $10,000 cash or surety.

            The charge stems from a St. Clair County Sheriff’s Office investigation the previous day when deputies responded were called to NE 185 Private Road in reference to shots fired. Ron Botteron reported Andrew Smith stopped his vehicle and confronted him about some past issues. He said Smith retrieved a handgun from the cab of his truck and fired at least five rounds from his 9mm. handgun. Botteron reported his steel shop had three bullet holes in it. Contact was made with Smith at a friend's house and he was taken into custody.

Terry Sieleman

           Terry Sieleman- On Oct. 26, Terry Sieleman, 38, Appleton City, was arrested on a St. Clair County warrant charging him with class C felony possession of a controlled substance and class A misdemeanor unlawful use of drug paraphernalia. Bond is set at $20,000 cash or surety.

            The charges stem from a St. Clair County Sheriff’s Office investigation the previous day. A traffic stop was conducted on a vehicle Sieleman was a passenger in. During the investigation members of the Mid Missouri Multi Jurisdiction Drug Task Force arrived on scene to assist with the stop. A check revealed Sieleman had two warrants from Henry County for failing to appear in court on misdemeanor charges of harassment and speeding. Total bond on those charges were set is set at $1,274 cash or surety. Sieleman was taken into custody.

            The investigation continued at a camper that Sieleman resides in behind an abandoned residence on Burdette Street, Appleton City. A plastic bag with a white powder and several items of drug paraphernalia were discovered in the camper. The white powder field tested positive for methamphetamine. Sieleman was taken into custody.

Richard Armstrong

           Richard Armstrong-On Oct. 25, Richard Armstrong, 44, Corpus Cristie, Texas, was arrested on three St. Clair County warrants, class D felony non support, and failing to appear in court on a misdemeanor charges of non support, and violation of an order of protection. Total bond is set at $5,141.50 cash only.

Warrants issued

            Justin Johnson, Chevy Ashbaker, and Brandon Damewood- On Oct. 26, St. Clair County warrants were issued for Justin Johnson, 20, Osceola; Chevy Ashbaker, 18, Sheldon; and Brandon Damewood, 17, El Dorado Springs, charging them each with three counts of class C felony arson-second degree. Bonds are set at $30,000 cash only in each case. The charges stem from investigation that started on Sept. 16 when St. Clair County deputies were called to three suspicious fires in the Taberville area. Deputies took initial reports and the investigations were turned over to the Missouri State Fire Marshal.

            Christian Myers- On Oct. 26, a St. Clair County warrant was issued for Christian Myers, 24, El Dorado Springs, charging him with class C felony attempted burglary-first degree. Bond is set at $10,000 cash or surety.

            The charge stems from a St. Clair County Sheriff’s Office investigation on May 6, 2015 when deputies were dispatched to SW 900 Road, El Dorado Springs, in reference to an attempted burglary.  Stormy Haddan reported individuals attempted to enter her residence through a window and fled from the residence in a vehicle.

            Marcus Howard- On Oct. 25, a St. Clair County warrant was issued for Marcus Howard, 21, Raymore, for probation revocation on an original class C felony charge of possessing a controlled substance. Bond is set at $5,000 cash only. The original charge stems from an Osceola Police Department investigation in June 2014.
