Sheriff Scott Keeler said deputies made seven warrant arrests and took a theft report during the week of Sept. 5-12.
Warrant arrests
Aaron Barnes- On Sept. 11, Aaron Barnes, 30, Weaubleau, was arrested at his residence on SE T Highway on several warrants from multiple jurisdictions. Barnes had a total of 18 active warrants of which 12 were extraditable.

Barnes was arrested on two Hickory County warrants charging him with class C felony possessing a controlled substance, class D felony unlawful use of drug paraphernalia, and failing to appear in court on a class A misdemeanor charge of tampering with a motor vehicle-second degree. He was arrested on an Independence Police Department warrant charging him with class C felony possessing a controlled substance and class A misdemeanor unlawful use of drug paraphernalia. He was arrested on a Dallas County warrant for failing to appear in court on an ordinance violation of driving while revoked and eight Jackson County warrants for failing to appear in court on misdemeanor charges. Total bond was set at $34,700.

Paul Reaves- On Sept. 9, Paul Reaves, 52, Collins, was arrested on a St. Clair County warrant charging him with class C felony unlawful possession of a firearm and class D felony unlawful use of a weapon. Bond is set at $20,000 cash or surety.
The charges stem from a St. Clair County Sheriff’s Office investigation the previous day on SE 951 Road, Collins, when deputies responded to a report of a threat. During the investigation it was discovered Reaves brandished a long rifle in an angrily and threatening manner. He allegedly made threats to kill a female individual.

Trevor Hayes- On Sept. 8, Trevor Hayes, 24, Clinton, was arrested on a St. Clair County warrant charging him with class B misdemeanor driving while intoxicated and class A misdemeanor unlawful use of drug paraphernalia. Bond is set at $2,500 cash or surety. The warrant was issued on Aug. 30 and charges stem from a Osceola Police Department investigation on April 22.

Christopher Gurley- On Sept. 8, Christopher Gurley, 33, Lowry City, was arrested on a St. Clair County warrant at a residence on NW 451 Road, Lowry City. The warrant charges Gurley with five counts of class A misdemeanor violating an order of protection for an adult. Bond is set at $3,500 cash or surety.
The warrant was issued on Aug. 15 and the charges stem from incidents on June 5-6 and July 11. A St. Clair County Sheriff’s Office investigation discovered Gurley was served with an order of protection on June 4. On June 5-6, Gurley made four attempts to contact the petitioner in the case using a phone system for jail inmates. On July 11, Gurley was seen on the property listed in the order of protection.

Cheryl Schmutz- On Sept. 7, Cheryl Schmutz, 26, Osceola, was arrested in St. Clair County on a Henry County warrant for failing to appear in court on a misdemeanor charge of no license. Bond is set at $199. The warrant was issued in February and the original charge stems from a MSHP investigation in Sept. 2015.
Clayton Barker- On Sept. 7, Clayton Barker, 52, Lowry City, was arrested on a St. Clair County warrant charging him with probation revocation on original class C felony charge of possessing a controlled substance. Bond is set at $5,000 cash only. Barker was in custody at the St. Clair County Jail when the warrant was served. The warrant was issued Aug. 30.

The original charge stems from a St. Clair County Sheriff’s Office investigation in June 2012 when Barker was transported to the county jail for another agency. During a search before entering the jail, Zanex was found on his person.

Todd Lee- On Sept. 6, Todd Lee, 52, Bland, was arrested at the St. Clair County Court House on a no bond Polk County warrant for probation violation on an original felony charge of driving while intoxicated.

Bobby Rhodes- On Sept. 7, a St. Clair County warrant was issued for Bobby Rhodes, 36, Osceola, charging him with class D felony nonsupport. Bond is set at $1,000 cash only.

Rifle reported missing
On Sept 8, a St. Clair County deputy took a theft report on NE 700 Road, Lowry City. Ammon Troyer reported a Marlin .22 caliber bolt action rifle missing from his house. The rifle has a wood stock, blued barrel, and a scope.
