The complete St. Clair County Sheriff’s Office News Release and Court Case Updates  Aug. 1-8, 2016

     Sheriff Scott Keeler said deputies made nine arrests and took reports of fraud, property damage, and stealing during the week of Aug. 1-8.

Fraud reported

     On Aug. 7, a St. Clair County deputy took a report of fraud on South Beech Street, Appleton City. Anthony Sielman said he purchased a 2001 Peterbilt 379 truck from an individual on the internet for $11,000. Sielman noted he paid for the truck using a bank wire and has not received the vehicle. The selling party stated they did not receive the money.  The report was forwarded to the Appleton City Police Department for further investigation. 

Window damage in Appleton City

     On Aug. 7, a St. Clair County deputy took a report of property damage on North Maple Street, Appleton City. Kinleigh Preston reported broken driver's side window on her husband’s pickup truck. The report was forwarded to Appleton City Police Department for further investigation.

Stealing report on NE 800 Road

     On Aug. 6, a St. Clair County deputy took a stealing report from Tammy Appleberry, Lowry City. Appleberry reported jewelry and a flat iron stolen from her trailer on NE 800 Road, Lowry City.

Mailbox damage on SW 425 Road

     On Aug. 6, a St. Clair County deputy took a property damage report from Jack Smith. He reported damage to his mailbox at his residence on SW 425 Road, El Dorado Springs. Smith noted this has happened two other times in the past, one was approximately five years before and the other time was approximately 25 years ago.

Feed and buckets reported stolen on SE 401 Road

     On Aug. 4, a St. Clair County Deputy took a theft report on SE 401 Road, Collins. The caretaker of the property, Billy Puckett, reported five bags of corn feed, two metal feed buckets, a can of nuts and bolts and a can of fencing steeples missing.  Puckett stated all the items were inside the horse trailer they use to store the feed.

Items reported stolen from vehicles in Lowry City

     On Aug. 3, a St. Clair County deputy took a theft report from Michael Roberts. He reported approximately $75 in change missing from a vehicle at his shop on East Fifth Street, Lowry City. Roberts said another vehicle had a key missing from it. He estimated the key would cost approximately $160 to replace. The case was forwarded to the Lowry City Police Department for investigation.

Felony drug arrests

     Sandra Ralston and Bobby Ralston Jr.- On Aug. 6, Sandra Ralston, 52, and Bobby Ralston Jr., 39, both of Collins, were arrested on St. Clair County warrants charging them each with class C felony possession of a controlled substance. Bond in each case is set at $15,000 cash or surety.

     The charges stem from an investigation the day before when St. Clair County Sheriff’s Office deputies and members of the Mid Missouri Multi Jurisdiction Drug Task Force conducted an investigation at the Ralston’s residence on Main Street, Collins. During the investigation methamphetamine was located in the residence.

     Victor Bruce- On Aug. 6, Victor Bruce, 39, was arrested on a St. Clair County warrant charging him with class C felony possession of a controlled substance. Bond is set at $15,000 cash or surety.

     The charge stems from a St. Clair County Sheriff’s Office investigation on Aug. 3 at Pilot Truck Stop, Collins. During the investigation a black key box with four plastic bags containing a crystal like substance was located in a vehicle. The substance field tested positive for methamphetamine. A hypodermic needle that appeared to have been used was also located on Bruce’s person.

Female arrested for felony assault on law enforcement officer

     Misty Bennink- On Aug. 5, Misty Bennink, 35, Lowry City, was arrested on a St. Clair County warrant charging her with class C felony assault on a law enforcement officer and class A misdemeanor resisting arrest. Bond is set at $20,000 cash or surety.

     The charges stem from an investigation in the early morning hours the same day when a St. Clair County deputy responded to a call of a suspicious vehicle in the parking lot at Shelby’s, Lowry City. Contact was made with Bennink and she became belligerent and knocked a flashlight out the deputy’s hand. She made a fist and swung it in an attempt to assault the deputy. During the incident Bennink assaulted the deputy several times and refused directives given from the deputy. Pepper spray and a taser were both used to subdue Bennink.

Other warrant arrests

Gregory Duffy

     Gregory Duffy- On Aug. 8, Gregory Duffy, 40, Osceola, was arrested in St. Clair County on a Henry County warrant charging him with class C felony possession of a controlled substance, misdemeanor possession of marijuana and two counts of misdemeanor unlawful use of drug paraphernalia. Bond is set at $10,000 cash or surety. The warrant was issued on July 15 and stems from an incident on March 2.

Doreen Cooper

     Doreen Cooper- On Aug. 6, Doreen Cooper, 59, Kansas City, was arrested in St. Clair County on a Belton municipal warrant for failing to appear in court on a city ordinance violation. Bond is set at $150 cash only.

     Jamie Woodall (Noble)- On Aug. 4, Jamie Woodall (Noble), 46, Independence, was arrested at the St. Clair County Sheriff’s Office on three Jackson County warrants for failing to appear in court on misdemeanor charges. Bond is set at $2,000 cash or surety.

Timothy Root

     Timothy Root- On Aug. 3, Timothy Root, 24, Osceola, was arrested in St. Clair County on two Vernon County warrants for failing to appear in court on misdemeanor charges of operating a motor vehicle in a carless and imprudent manner involving an accident, no insurance and an infraction of no seat belt. Total bond is $510 cash only. The warrants were issued on May 24 and stem from a Missouri State Highway Patrol investigation on April 2.

     Terry Sieleman- On Aug. 2, Terry Sieleman, 38, Appleton City, was arrested on a St. Clair County warrant charging him with failing to appear in court on class C felony possession of a controlled substance. Bond is set at $5,000 cash only. The original charge stems from an Appleton City Police Department investigation in October 2013.

     Joshua Bohannon- On Aug. 5, a St. Clair County warrant was issued for Joshua Bohannon, 32, Osceola, charging him with class D felony driving while revoked. Bond is set at $5,000 cash or surety. The charge stems from a St. Clair County Sheriff’s Office investigation on June 11 when a traffic stop was conducted on a vehicle he was driving. The investigation revealed Bohannon had three prior offenses for driving while revoked or suspended.

     Charles Gillian- On Aug. 4, a St. Clair County warrant was issued for Charles Gillian, 35, Collins, charging him with class C felony possession of a controlled substance. Bond is set at $15,000 cash or surety.

     Trevor Tapprich- On Aug. 3, a St. Clair County warrant was issued for Trevor Tapprich, 35, Quincy, charging him with a probation violation on an original class C felony of possession of chemicals with intent to manufacture. Bond is set at $5,000 cash only. The original charge stems from a St. Clair County Sheriff’s Office investigation in July 2013.

     Brent Thomas- On Aug. 3, a St. Clair County warrant was issued for Brent Thomas, 43, Lowry City, charging him with class D felony driving while revoked. Bond is set at $5,000 cash or surety. The charge stems from a St. Clair County Sheriff’s Office investigation on July 8 when a deputy made contact with Thomas who had struck a deer with a vehicle he was driving. The investigation revealed Thomas had four prior offenses for driving while revoked or suspended.
