Sheriff Keeler said deputies have had a busy start to the week. Deputies took a theft report and four individuals were taken into custody.

Two taken into custody of felony drug charges

On Aug. 3, Victor Bruce, 39, El Dorado Springs, and Charles Gillan, 35, Collins, were taken into custody after a St. Clair County Sheriff’s Office investigation at Pilot Truck Stop, Collins. During the investigation a black key box with four plastic bags containing a crystal like substance was located. The substance field tested positive for methamphetamine. A hypodermic needle that appeared to have been used was also located on Bruce’s person. Formal charges are pending.

 

Items reported stolen from vehicles in Lowry City

On Aug. 3, a St. Clair County deputy took a theft report from Michael Roberts. He reported approximately $75 in change missing from a vehicle at his shop on East Fifth Street, Lowry City. Roberts said another vehicle had a key missing from it. He estimated the key would cost approximately $160 to replace. The case was forwarded to the Lowry City Police Department for investigation.

Warrant arrests

Timothy Root- On Aug. 3, Timothy Root, 24, Osceola, was arrested in St. Clair County on two Vernon County warrants for failing to appear in court on misdemeanor charges of operating a motor vehicle in a carless and imprudent manner involving an accident, no insurance and an infraction of no seat belt. Total bond is $510 cash only. The warrants were issued on May 24 and stem from a Missouri State Highway Patrol investigation on April 2.

Terry Sieleman- On Aug. 2, Terry Sieleman, 38, Appleton City, was arrested on a St. Clair County warrant charging him with failing to appear in court on class C felony possession of a controlled substance. Bond is set at $5,000 cash only. The original charge stems from an Appleton City Police Department investigation in October 2013.
