Sheriff Scott Keeler said deputies made seven arrests during the week of July 18-25.
Arrest warrant issued for
El Dorado Springs man
who fled from deputies in
between Roscoe and Tiffin
On July 22, a St. Clair County warrant was issued for Dennis Spiva, 38, El Dorado Springs, charging him with class C felony possession of a controlled substance and class D felony resisting/interfering with an arrest for a felony. Bond is set at $25,000 cash only.

The charges stem from an investigation the previous day on Highway 82 near SW 651 Road between Roscoe and Tiffin. After receiving a call regarding a suspicious vehicle in the area, a St. Clair County deputy met with Spiva who stated he parked his vehicle while he and a friend were walking the creek looking for arrowheads. During the investigation a glass pipe and a plastic container with approximately 21 grams of white crystal substance was located in Spiva’s possession. The substance field tested positive for methamphetamine. The moment when these items were discovered, Spiva fled on foot into creeks and timber. An extensive search of the area was conducted utilizing several officers and a Missouri State Highway Patrol helicopter. Spiva was not located.

Steven DeHart- On July 23, Steven DeHart, 54, Collins, was arrested at the St. Clair County Jail on a Polk County warrant from Bolivar Police Department for class A misdemeanor larceny. Bond is set at $150 cash only.

Scottie Anderson Jr.- On July, 22, Scottie Anderson Jr., 25, Independence, was arrested on a St. Clair County warrant for failing to appear in court on a misdemeanor charge of operating a vehicle on a highway without a valid license. Bond is set at $272 cash only. The original charge stems from a St. Clair County Sheriff’s Office investigation in April when a traffic stop was conducted on a vehicle Anderson was driving on Highway 13.

Orville Axelson Jr.- On July 22, Orville Axelson Jr., 50, Rockville, Ill. was arrested on a St. Clair County warrant charging him passing a bad check. Bond is set at $1,000 cash or surety. The charge stems from an incident in June 1999.

Travis Tweedy- On July 21, Travis Tweedy, 37, Buffalo, was arrested on St. Clair County warrant charging him with class D felony driving while revoked. Bond is set at $7,500 cash or surety. The charge stems from an investigation earlier the same day when a St. Clair County deputy made a traffic stop on a vehicle Tweedy was driving. It was learned Tweety had eight prior convictions in various jurisdictions for the same charge.

Herman Long- On July 20, a St. Clair County deputy arrested Herman Long, 36, Osceola, on a St. Clair County warrant charging him with unclassified felony statutory sodomy-first degree. Bond is set at $50,000 cash only. The charge stems from an Osceola Police Department (OPD) investigation on June 22.
The warrant was served at the St. Clair County Jail where Long is currently in custody on class B felony charge of distribution, delivery, manufacture or production of a controlled substance. This is also an OPD investigation stemming from an investigation on June 23. Bond in this case is set at $20,000 cash or surety.

Dillion Bennett- On July 20, Dillion Bennett, 32, Nevada, was arrested on a St. Clair County warrant charging him with a probation violation on an original class C felony burglary second degree charge and a class D felony charge of property damage first degree. Bond is set at $5,000 cash only.
The original charges stem from an incident on Dec. 31, 2015 when St. Clair County deputies were dispatched to a residence on SW 101 Road in reference to a stealing in progress. The property is owned by David Lile and the residence was recently destroyed by fire.
Deputies arrived on scene and located Bennett sitting in a truck filled with metal scrap items taken from the structure. The investigation revealed Bennett did not have permission to be on the property. The owner arrived on scene and identified the items and advised a metal outbuilding that was not damaged by the fire was also missing from the property. He noted the metal in the back of the truck was from the missing building. Items that were inside the building were found beside the truck. Damage to the building was estimated at $1,500 and the value of the items taken was estimated at $1,000.

Cody Muncy- On July 19, Cody Muncy, 22, Kansas City was arrested on two St. Clair County misdemeanor warrants for exceeding the posted speed limit by 11-15 miles per hour and operating a vehicle without a valid license. The warrant was issued on July 6 and stems from a Missouri State Highway Patrol investigation on April 2. Total bond is set at $492.

Jacob Hudgens- On Wednesday, July 20, a St. Clair County arrest warrant was issued for Jacob Hudgens, 39, Osceola, for failing to appear in court on an original class C felony charge of domestic assault-second degree. Bond is set at $20,000 cash only. The original charge stems from an investigation on June 19 when St. Clair County deputies responded to a disturbance on NE 276 Road, Osceola. Hudgens allegedly struck a female victim with a closed fist and choked her on three different occasions.

Michelle Terrell - On July 20, a St. Clair County arrest warrant was issued for Michelle Terrell, 38, Wheatland, charging her with class C felony burglary-second degree. Bond is set at $15,000 cash only.
The charges stem from an incident on June 29 when St Clair County deputies responded to a burglary in progress on South 17th Street, Collins. During the investigation it was learned Terrell and Troy Osborn unlawfully entered a residence. The homeowner, Kimberly Aldridge, arrived home and found Osborn and Terrell inside her residence. There was evidence several items were gone through in the residence.
