Sheriff Scott Keeler reported deputies have had a busy start to the week with five individuals arrested on warrants. The sheriff reminds citizens of the annual youth alcohol enforcement crackdown “Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over” running through May 16. He noted during the campaign deputies will be aggressively looking for substance–impaired drivers and will arrest anyone caught driving impaired.

Joseph Howery- On May 5, Joseph Howery, 17, Appleton City, was arrested on a St. Clair County warrant charging him with unclassified misdemeanor possession of liquor by minor. Bond is set at $2,500 cash or surety.
The charge stems from an incident the previous day when a St. Clair County deputy was dispatched to Hills and Son Funeral Home, Appleton City, regarding a male subject lying on the steps of the business. During the investigation it was learned the subject got up and walked away. Contact was made with the individual on south on Poplar Street near Second Street and he was identified as Howery. After contact was made with him it was determined Howery was intoxicated. He was placed in custody and transported to the St. Clair County jail pending the formal charge.

Jay Buck- On May 4, a St. Clair County deputy arrested Jay Buck, 38, Kansas City, at the St. Clair County Court House on a Jackson County warrant for failing to appear in court on an original class A misdemeanor charge of possession of marijuana. Bond is set at $2,000 cash or surety. The warrant was issued on March 21 and stems from a Missouri State Highway Patrol investigation in November 2015.

Michael Shortino- On May 4, a St. Clair County deputy arrested Michael Shortino, 28, Clinton, on a St. Clair County warrant for failing to appear in court on two municipal traffic ordinance violations from Lowry City Police Department. Bond is set at $405.50 cash only. The warrant was issued on April 18 and stems from an investigation in November 2015.

James Porter- On May 4, a St. Clair County deputy arrested James Porter, 25, Osceola, on a Benton County warrant for failing to appear in court on an original class A misdemeanor charge of possession of marijuana. Bond is set at $700 cash only. The warrant was issued on April 12 and stems from a Missouri State Highway Patrol investigation in September 2015.

Charles Shipman- On May 4, Charles Shipman, 45, Cape Girardeau, was arrested on a St. Clair County warrant for a probation violation on an original misdemeanor charge of non support. Bond is set at $2,000 cash only.

Raven Collins- On May 2, a St. Clair County warrant was issued for Raven Collins, 36, Osceola, charging her with failing to appear in court on two original class C felony charges of possession of a controlled substance. Bond is set at $10,000 cash only.
The charges stem from a drug investigation in February 2014 at her residence at the time on Fifth and Mahan street, Lowry City. St. Clair County Sheriff’s Office deputies and officers from the Mid Missouri Multi Jurisdiction Drug Task Force located methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia in the residence.
Chad Nash- On April 20, a St. Clair County warrant was issued for Chad Nash, 41, Raymore, charging him with class D felony non support. Bond is set at $1,500 cash only.
Michael Carneal- On April 18, a St. Clair County warrant was issued for Michael Carneal, 44, Sedalia, for failing to appear in court on a misdemeanor charge of non support. Bond is set at $750 cash only.
