On April 21, St. Clair County deputies and the Lowry City Police Department responded to a residence at 202 East 7th Street, Lowry City, and located two bodies. The body of Isaac Tyson, a two- month-old infant child, was located in the living room of the home. His father’s body, Curtis Paul Tyson, 43, was located in a detached garage of the home. The father's death was determined to be caused by a self inflicted gunshot wound.

On April 22, an autopsy was conducted on the infant and the cause of death was determined to be from blunt force trauma. The sheriff said following a meeting with the Child Death Review Board on April 26, this case has been ruled a murder suicide and is considered closed.
