St. Clair County Sheriff Scott Keeler said on April 21, at approximately 3:45 p.m. the St. Clair County Sheriff's Office received a call of a possible deceased subject located inside a residence at 202 East 7th Street, Lowry City.

St. Clair County deputies and the Lowry City Police Department responded to the scene and located two bodies. Isaac Tyson, a two-month-old infant child, was located in the living room of the home. His father’s body, Curtis Paul Tyson, 43, was located in a detached garage of the home. The sheriff said the father's death was determined to be caused by a self inflicted gunshot wound.

The investigation is ongoing at this time. Detectives have made several interviews and have collected evidence to further investigate the reason for these losses of life.

“On behalf of everyone at the St. Clair County Sheriff’s Office as well as myself personally I want to offer our condolences to the family of this tragedy,” said Sheriff Keeler. “Our hearts are with them as they go through this difficult time. Our thoughts are also with the teenage brother of the infant and his friend who came home from school to discover this as well as the law enforcement and first responders dealing with this tragedy.”
