St. Clair County Sheriff Scott Keeler said deputies made six warrant arrests and took reports of burglary and vandalism during the week of Jan. 25-Feb. 1.

Burglary complaint on NW 178 Road

     On Jan. 31, a St. Clair County deputy took a burglary complaint on NW 178 Road, Osceola. Chelsie Finger reported several items missing from a building on the property. Items missing include: a pair of red bolt cutters, a battery tester, hand planers, and various hand tools. The value of the items was estimated at $1,000.

Vandalism reported at A.C. Cemetery

     On Jan. 29, a St. Clair County deputy took a vandalism report at the Appleton City Cemetery. Karen Huey reported vandalism occurred behind the mausoleum at the Appleton City Cemetery. Once on scene the deputy met with city employees who stated a trash dumpster was turned upside down and an outhouse was turned over on its side. The information was forwarded to the Appleton City Police Department for investigation.

Warrant arrests

George Richey

     George Richey- On Feb. 1, George Richey, 54, Appleton City, was arrested on a St. Clair County warrant for failing to pay fines/costs on a class A misdemeanor charge of violating an of adult order of protection. The warrant was issued on Dec. 31, 2015. Bond is set at $3,266.50 cash only. The original charge stems from an incident in August 2014 after St. Clair County deputies responded to a disturbance on North Poplar Street, Appleton City. A female victim reported Richey was yelling and screaming and using vulgar language at her. A copy of the protection order from the court was observed by deputies and Richey was taken into custody and transported to the St. Clair County Jail.

Franklin Keith

     Franklin Keith-On Jan. 29, Franklin Keith, was arrested on a St. Clair County warrant charging him with a probation violation on an original class C felony charge of possession of a controlled substance. The warrant was issued on Sept. 4, 2015 and bond is set at $50,000 cash or surety. The original charge stems from a Missouri State Highway Patrol investigation in January 2015.

Jay Buck

     Jay Buck- On Jan. 28, Jay Buck, 38, Kansas City, was arrested on a St. Clair County warrant charging him with class C felony possession of a controlled substance. Bond is set at $15,000 cash or surety. The charge stems from an incident the previous day when a St. Clair County deputy conducted a traffic stop for speeding on Highway 13 near Collins. During the investigation a glass pipe and digital scales were found in Buck’s vehicle. The items field tested positive for methamphetamine.

David McKinney

     David McKinney- On Jan. 28, David McKinney, 34, Appleton City, was arrested on two St. Clair County warrants charging him with  class A misdemeanor domestic assault-third degree and class A  misdemeanor assault on a law enforcement officer-third degree. Total bond is set at $20,000 cash or surety. The charges stem from an incident the previous day when St. Clair County deputies responded to Third Street in Appleton City in reference to a domestic disturbance in progress. McKinney allegedly threatened the life of a female victim and her family. The victim stated McKinney refused to let her leave the house. Later the same day a deputy made contact with McKinney and he threatened the life of the deputy. During the contact, McKinney also made advances placing the deputy in apprehension of physical attack.

Joseph Anderson

     Joseph Anderson- On Jan. 27, Joseph Anderson, 37, Butler, was arrested on a St. Clair County warrant charging him with class D felony non support-total arrears in excess of 12 monthly payments due under order of support. Bond is set at $2,700 cash only. The warrant was issued on Jan. 19.

     Jacob Vanartsdalen(No photo)- On Jan. 26, Jacob Vanartsdalen, 23, Appleton City was arrested in St. Clair County on a Henry County warrant charging him with class C felony burglary-first degree. Bond is set at $25,000 cash or surety. He was transported to the Henry County line and turned over to Henry County deputies.
