St. Clair County Sheriff Scott Keeler said deputies took a variety of calls for service during the week of Nov. 23-30. Deputies made one warrant arrest and took reports of fraud, stealing, identity theft, and property damage.
Warrant arrest

Jeremy Attebery- On Nov. 30, Jeremy Attebery, 35, Ottawa, Kan. was arrested in Osceola on a Jackson County warrant for a probation violation on an original class C felony charge of passing a bad check. The warrant was issued Oct. 20 and bond is set at $10,000 with 10-percent cash only. The original charge stems from an incident in April 2013.

Fraud report taken
On Nov. 29, a St. Clair County deputy took a fraud report in Osceola. Carla Dozier reported a friend suggested an individual to assist her with switching cellular phone companies.
Dozier said the individual met her at her residence in Twin Oaks Harbor on Nov. 1 and paid $250 cash to switch companies. She later learned the individual was defrauding her and several other people. Contact was made with the cellular phone company and they did not have any paperwork or information about her or her phone number.
Tools stolen from construction trailer
On Nov. 27, a St. Clair County deputy took a report at Sugarfoot BBQ, Osceola, in reference to tools stolen from a construction trailer. Rick Bray reported damage to a latch on the trailer and several air and electric powered tools missing from the trailer. Items included nail guns, sanders, saws, drills, hand tools, tool bags and a ladder. The total value of the items was estimated at $5,987.
Identity theft
On Nov. 26, a St. Clair County deputy took a report on SE 850 Road, Collins in reference to identity theft. Lois Longgood reported receiving a call from a credit card company regarding $6,000 she owed to them. She said after checking, it was discovered another credit card of hers was used to make another $6,000 charge. Longgood stated the charges were not made by her.
Propane regulator reported stolen in Lowry City
On Nov. 26, a St. Clair County deputy took a stealing report on South Main Street, Lowry City. Larry Buchanan reported someone stole a regulator from a propane tank in his back yard. The case was forwarded to the Lowry City Police Department.
Theft reported
On Nov. 24, a St. Clair County deputy took a report from Evelyn Schroer in reference to a theft. Schroer reported two credit cards were activated in her name and maxed out to the limit. She also reported a $300 debit transaction that was not authorized and a check written to a family member for $25 was altered to $125. Schroer’s total loss was estimated at $2,114.60. She advised a recent credit check discovered another credit card in her name. Schroer stated she will get the information turned in to the sheriff’s office.
Property damage on YY Highway
On Nov. 24, St. Clair County deputies took a property damage report on NW YY Highway, Osceola. Robert Frederick reported damage to a window screen and a 2014 Jeep Grand Cherokee. Damage was estimated at $120.

Arrest warrants issued
Victor Price- On Nov. 23, a St. Clair County arrest warrant was issued for Victor Price, 33, El Dorado Springs, charging him with a probation violation on an original class D felony charge of non support. Bond is set at $5,000 cash or surety. The original charge stems from an incident on Aug. 10, 2010.
Gary Bray- On Nov. 23, a St. Clair County arrest warrant was issued for Gary Bray, 31, Osceola, charging him with two class B misdemeanors, trespass-first degree, and property damage-second degree. Bond is set at $2,500 cash or surety. The charges stem from an incident on Oct. 16 when St. Clair County deputies took a report from Netha Echols in reference to trespassing and property damage on SE 1141 Road, Gerster. Echols reported damage to a door handle, a door, and glass.
Scynicka Schmitz- On Nov. 23, a St. Clair County arrest warrant was issued for Scynicka Schmitz, 20, Shawnee Mission, Kan., charging her with two class A misdemeanors, possession of marijuana and unlawful use of drug paraphernalia. Bond is set at $2,500 cash or surety. The charges stem from a Missouri State Highway Patrol investigation on Oct. 31.
Jonathan Garzon- On Nov. 23, two St. Clair County arrest warrants were issued for Jonathan Garzon, 31, Kansas City, charging him with failing to appear in court on two ordinance violations for speeding and no driver’s license. Total bond is set at $600. The charges stem from two separate incidents in August by the Osceola Police Department.
