The complete St. Clair County Sheriff’s Office News Release for Aug. 24-31, 2015

Sheriff Scott Keeler said there were four arrests made and three reports of stealing taken during the week of Aug. 24-31.

Felony drug arrest

Valerie Richards

      On Aug. 28, Valerie Richards, 56, Hermitage, was arrested for driving while intoxicated (DWI). During the booking process inside the jail, six pills identified as tramadol and clonazepam, were located in a cigarette case in Richards' property. An arrest warrant was obtained charging Richards with class C felony possession of a controlled substance. Bond is set at $20,000 cash or surety. Formal charges on the DWI are pending.

Felony arrest made

Eric Bell

     On Aug. 28, Eric Bell, 25, Osceola, was arrested in Osceola on two Polk County warrants for failing to appear in court on infractions of displaying plates of another and no seatbelt. Total bond is set at $250 cash only. While being held, a St. Clair County arrest warrant was issued for Bell charging him with class C felony assault. He was arrested. The charge stems from an Osceola Police Department investigation on Aug. 25.

Stealing report at Pilot

     On Aug. 27, a St. Clair County deputy took a stealing report at Pilot Travel Center, Collins. Malcolm Fiedler reported he was riding with a friend and stopped for gas while returning home from a trip. Fiedler said his friend gave him a ten dollar bill and told him to go inside and get a candy bar.  He said when he returned, his friend and the vehicle were gone.  Fiedler stated he had several items in the vehicle including $825 cash, NBA Grizzles hat valued at $25, NBA Atlanta Hawks sweatshirt valued at $50, two pairs of jeans valued at $10 each, Galaxy cellular phone valued at $75, and his Missouri state identification. The investigation is ongoing.

Arrest warrants issued

Zachary Dewey

     On Aug. 27, a St. Clair County arrest warrant was issued for Zachary Dewey, 26, Appleton City, charging him with a class C felony charge of violating Missouri Revised Statutes section 578.416 regarding crop loss-value greater than $1,000 but less than $100,000. Bond is set at $10,000 cash or surety. The charge stems from an incident in October 2014 when Dewey allegedly drove his vehicle into a soybean field on NW 1000 Road. Damage to the field was estimated between $2,500 and $3,000.

Jason Hale

     On Aug. 27, a St. Clair County arrest warrant was issued for Jason Hale, 40, Garden City, charging him with a probation/parole violation on an original class C felony charge of possessing a controlled substance. Bond is set at $5,000 cash only. The original charge stems from an incident in December 2010.

Felony drug arrest

Andrew Loyd

     On August 25, Andrew Loyd, 20, Osceola, was arrested on a St. Clair County warrant charging him with class B felony of distribution of a controlled substance. The warrant was issued on Aug. 24 and bond is set at $20,000 cash or surety.

     The charges stem from an incident on Aug. 7 at his residence on Hailman Road, Osceola, when St. Clair County Sheriff’s Office deputies, members of the Mid Missouri Multi Jurisdiction Drug Task Force, and officers from the Osceola Police Department discovered approximately five-and-a-half ounces of marijuana and digital scales in the residence.

Pipe gate reported stolen

On August 25, a St. Clair County deputy took a report from Leslie Smith regarding a pipe gate stolen from his property near NW 1001 Road and A Highway, Appleton City. Smith described the gate as 20-foot long, orange, and damaged at the bottom. The value was estimated at $200.

Signs reported stolen

On Aug. 24, a St. Clair County deputy took a stealing report on SE 701 Road, Collins. Angela Smith reported two red vinyl signs with her business name "Red Barn Firearms" printed on them were stolen from property at the junction of Highway 54 at SE 701 Road. The total value of the signs was estimated at $90.

Other warrant arrest

Douglas Dozler

     On Aug. 26, Douglas Dozler, 49, El Dorado Springs, was arrested on a St. Clair County warrant charging him with a probation violation on an original class C felony charge of theft/stealing. The warrant was issued on June 17. The original charge stems from an incident in September 2012. Bond is set at $5,000 cash only.
