The complete St. Clair County Sheriff’s Office News Release for June 15-22, 2015

     St. Clair County Sheriff Scott Keeler said deputies made eight warrant arrests, took a report in reference to dead dogs found, and a report of missing cattle during the week of June 15-22.

Osceola woman wanted on drug charge

     On June 17, a St. Clair County arrest warrant was issued for Rachael Wheatley, 37, Osceola, charging her with a class C felony of possessing a controlled substance. Bond is set at $15,000 cash or surety.

     The charge stems from an incident the day before when a St. Clair County deputy conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle Wheatley was driving in the Lowry City area. The vehicle did not have license plates. Citations were issued and the vehicle was towed. An inventory of the contents of the vehicle was conducted and a clear plastic bag with a white powder substance was found. The substance field tested positive for methamphetamine. The Mid Missouri Multi Jurisdiction Drug Task Force assisted with the investigation.

     On June 19, a St. Clair County arrest warrant was issued for Jerry Eaton, 43, Osceola, for failing to appear in court on a class A misdemeanor charge of possessing marijuana. Bond is set at $2,500 cash only. The original charge stems from an incident in October 2014.

     Justin Swofford- On June 19, Justin Swofford, 31, Osceola, was arrested at the St. Clair County Courthouse on a no bond probation and parole warrant.

Michael Stuart

     Michael Stuart- On June 18, Michael Stuart, 30, Osceola, was arrested on a St. Clair County warrant for a probation violation on an original class C felony charge of burglary-second degree. Bond is set at $5,000 cash only. The warrant was issued on May 26.

The original charge stems from an incident on Aug. 20, 2013 when Robert Lily reported someone trying to enter his house in Roscoe through a screen. He identified the man as a neighbor. An investigation led to Stuart’s arrest.

     Rick Peggram Jr.- On June 18, Rick Peggram Jr., 46, Appleton City, was arrested in Appleton City on a Newton County warrant for a probation violation on an original charge of driving while intoxicated. Bond is set at $1,500 cash or surety.

     Michael Emerick Jr.- On June 17, Michael Emerick Jr., 19, Osceola, was arrested in Osceola on a St. Clair County warrant for failing to appear in court on an original charge of minor in possession. The charge stems from an incident with the Osceola Police Department on April 11, 2015. Bond is set at $400 cash or surety.

     Adam Johnson- On June 17, Adam Johnson, 34, Clinton, was arrested in Osceola on a Henry County warrant for failing to appear in court on an original charge of failure to obey. Bond is set at $1,000 cash only.

     Brenden Baldwin- On June 17, Brenden Baldwin, 19, Warsaw, was arrested in Osceola on a St. Clair County warrant for failing to appear in court on an original misdemeanor charges of littering, property damage-second degree, and trespassing-first degree. Bond is set at $750 cash only. The warrant was issued on June 8 and stems from an incident on Aug. 16, 2014 when St. Clair County deputies took a report on SE 550 Road in reference to a large party held in an open field without permission.

      Nicholas Brown- On June 17, Nicholas Brown, 30, Grain Valley, was arrested in Osceola on two Jackson County warrants for failing to appear in court on original misdemeanor charges of driving while intoxicated and following too close. The charges stem from an incident on Sept. 28, 2014 with the Missouri State Highway Patrol. Bond is set at $2,000 with 10-percent cash on each charge.

     Raven Collins- On June 16, Raven Collins, 35, Lowry City, was arrested on a St. Clair County warrant for failing to appear in court on two Class C felony charges of possessing a controlled substance. The warrant was issued on June 1. Bond is set at $5,000 cash only.

     The charges stems from a drug investigation in February 2014 at Collins’ residence in Lowry City. St. Clair County Sheriff’s Office deputies and officers from the Mid Missouri Multi Jurisdiction Drug Task Force located methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia in the residence.

Three dead dogs found in low water crossing

     On June 21, a St. Clair County deputy was dispatched to the Chalk Level area near Highway FF in reference to dead dogs that were found near a low water crossing. Three dead dogs were located inside dog food sacks. It appeared the dogs weighed approximately 40-50 pounds and had brown, black, and white markings.

Missing cattle

     On June 17, a St. Clair County deputy took a report from Timothy Vaughn in reference to missing cattle on property in the northeast part of the county. Vaughn reported four head of cattle are missing. He described them as a red cow weighing 600 pounds, a red heifer yearling weighing 450 pounds, a black steer weighing 700 pounds, and a red/ white long horn steer yearling weighing between 500 and 600 pounds. The total loss was estimated at $4,450.
