St. Clair County Sheriff Scott Keeler said deputies made several arrests and took a report of stealing during the week of May 18-25.
Stealing report
On May 25, a St. Clair County deputy took a stealing complaint on SE 551 Road, Collins. Francis Isenbetter reported a 48-inch John Deere riding mower, Murry tiller, barbecue grill, two Stihl weed eaters, power washer, 2400 BTU window air conditioner, five gallons of deck wash, two cans of deck stain, and a gas can with five gallons of fuel. The estimated value of the items totaled $6,126.

Warrant arrests

On May 24, Daniel Shepherd, 31, Kansas City, was arrested in St. Clair County on a Benton County warrant for failing to appear in court on a traffic violation. The warrant was issued in September 2014. Bond is set at $200 cash or surety. The arrest came after a St. Clair County deputy initiated a traffic stop on an ATV after a complaint of an individual riding on the highway.

On May 23, Courtney Krause, 34, Kansas City, Kan., was arrested in St. Clair County on two Platte County warrants for failing to appear in court on traffic violations. The warrants were issued on May 19. Total bond is set at $635 cash only. The arrest came after a traffic stop was initiated on Krauses’ vehicle by a St. Clair County deputy.

On May 19, Zachary Vanholt, 25, Collins, was arrested on a St. Clair County warrant charging him with three class C felony charges of burglary-second degree and three class A misdemeanor charges of stealing motor fuel. Bond is set at $20,000 cash or surety. The warrant was issued on May 14 and stems from three separate incidents in November 2014 when motor fuel was stolen from a Collins Special Road District vehicle.

On May 19, Anthony Carter, 43, Lathrop, was arrested in St. Clair County on a Clinton County warrant charging him with a class C felony of possessing a controlled substance. Bond is set at $2,500 cash only. The warrant was issued on May 11 and stems from an incident on April 22.

On May 19, Zachary Bean, 25, Appleton City, was arrested on a St. Clair County warrant charging him with a class C felony of distributing marijuana. Bond is set at $10,000 cash or surety. The warrant was issued on Jan. 21 and stems from an incident with Appleton City Police Department on Dec. 16, 2014.

On May 19, Edward Haywood, 31, Lee’s Summit, was arrested on a St. Clair County warrant for failing to appear in court on a misdemeanor charge of non support. The warrant was issued on Aug. 20, 2014 and stems from an incident in August 2009.

On May 18, Travis Butler, 24, Springfield, was arrested on a St. Clair County warrant for failing to appear in court on a class A misdemeanor charge of possessing marijuana. Bond is set at $500 cash only. The warrant was issued on Jan. 23 and stems from an incident in January 2014.
