Search warrant results in felony drug charge

On April 24, Shannon Knowles, 44, Appleton City, was arrested on a St. Clair County warrant charging her with a class C felony of possessing a controlled substance. Bond is set at $15,000 cash or surety.
The warrant was issued on April 20 and stems from an incident on April 15 when St. Clair County deputies, members of the Mid Missouri Multi Jurisdictional Drug Task Force, and the Miller County SWAT Team served a search warrant at her residence on Miller Street, Appleton City. During the investigation, a small plastic bag containing a white substance that field tested positive for methamphetamine was located in a bedroom. Knowles allegedly admitted the methamphetamine was hers and stated it had been there for three years.
Lowry City man arrested on felony charges

On April 23, Kasey Groves, 24, Lowry City, was arrested and booked into the St. Clair County Jail on three St. Clair County warrants. Two warrants are for probation violations on class C felony charges of burglary-second degree stemming from incidents in June 2013.
The third warrant was issued on April 13 and charges Groves with class D felony of resisting arrest/detention/stop by fleeing-creating a substantial risk of serious injury/death to any person. It also charges Groves with four misdemeanor charges including speeding, operating a vehicle without a license, no insurance, driving a vehicle to the left side of the roadway when view is obstructed by a hill or curve, and two infractions of failing to display plates on a motor vehicle and no seat belt.
The charges stem from an incident on Feb. 10 with the Missouri State Highway Patrol. Total bond is set at $20,000 cash only and $5,000 cash or surety.
Copper reported stolen from cell phone tower
On April 22, a St. Clair County deputy took a report of stolen copper at a cell phone tower on Highway 13 and NE 401 Road, Lowry City. A technician with Sprint reported an estimated $2,500 in copper was stole from the site. The investigation is ongoing.
