Burglary at Jim Rush building

On Sept. 13, a St. Clair County deputy was dispatched to the Jim Rush building on Highway 13, Osceola, in reference to a burglary. Darrell Reach, a friend Jim Rush, the owner of the building, reported he arrived at the property and noticed there was no lock on the gate and the inside lights were not working. A check of the breaker box found wires had been cut.
Reach noted several items belonging to him and members of the Rush family were missing from the building. Items stolen from Reach included a 12 volt battery, 12 volt battery charger, two  Motorguide trolling motors, and a metal rudder. The value of the items was estimated at $1,250. A pop-up camping trailer valued at $4,000 and several kitchen appliances were also reported stolen from the building. Several pieces of evidence were located at the scene and the investigation is ongoing.
