Kitchen Help Needed

NOW HIRING

The St. Clair County Sheriff's Office currently has an open full-time position in the Jail Kitchen.  The preferred candidate has prior experience in institutional kitchens, able to tract inventory, develop menus and order accordingly, figure meal costs, supervise and instruct other employees to effectively produce meals for a specific time, follow dietary restrictions and requirements, and have attended dietary/nutritional classes. Actual contact with inmates is rare in this position.

  • Starting pay: $14.77, raises at 6, 12, & 18 months to $16.72

Starting pay may be increased based on experience.

  • Holiday, Vacation, Sick and other types of special leave
  • Health, Vision, Dental, Retirement plans

 

Requirements:

  • 18 years of age or older.
  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • No Felony convictions or violent misdemeanors.
  • A valid driver's license.
  • Reliable transportation.
  • A good work ethic and strong moral compass.
  • Good verbal and written communications.
  • A willingness to learn the job and the importance of the job in respect to the safety and security of inmates, employees and the general public.
  • Be able to lift up to 25 pounds.
  • Be able to be on your feet /moving most of the shift.
  • Be able to multi-task, be attentive to details, and are familiar with computer usage.
