Sheriff Lee Hilty would like to share more information about the Text Caster partnership.

Upon signing up for the service, citizens will be able to get alerts on road closings, weather alerts directly from the National Weather Service, ongoing crime situations, and other emergency notifications. This will allow you to have immediate notifications in the event of a wanted person, a dangerous weather situation, and/or general event notifications

We were able to apprehend a fleeing subject within the first two weeks of having Text Caster available!

Arrests and Reports

Sheriff Lee Hilty reported deputies made arrests and took multiple reports during the week of January 20, 2023 through January 30th, 2023.

On January 20, 2023- St. Clair Deputies took a report of stolen plates. Subject advised he was out of town when he thought the rear plate was stolen off his truck. Plate was recovered in Grandview on January 23, 2023.

On January 20, 2023- St Clair Deputies were advised of a runaway juvenile. Investigating deputy was able to locate the juvenile. Juvenile was found safe and returned home.

On January 22, 2023- Mitchel, Nickolas was arrested by St. Clair County Deputies. St. Clair County Deputies were dispatched to a domestic disturbance call. Nickolas was arrested on Domestic Assault-4th degree charge.

On January 23, 2023- St. Clair Deputies were dispatched to a call regarding vandalism. After further investigation it was determined that a deep freezer full of meat had been damaged.

On January 24, 2023- Stroup, Debra was arrested by St. Clair County Deputies. Deputies were dispatched to a domestic disturbance call at the Wildflower Inn. When deputies arrived on scene they found Debra intoxicated. Debra was arrested on Domestic Assault-4th degree and Resisting Arrest charges.

On January 24, 2023- St. Clair Deputies took a report of theft at the end of highway CC.

On January 25, 2023- Pinkman, Earl was arrested by St. Clair County Deputies on a St. Clair County warrant. Earl was released into the custody of the jail staff. He is being held on his warrant for the charge of Possess Controlled Substance-Felony. He is being held on a no bond warrant.

On January 25, 2023- Mitchel, Nickolas was served a warrant for 2 counts of tampering with a judicial office, 2 counts of tampering with a judicial proceeding, and 2 counts of harassment. He is currently being held in the St. Clair County jail on a no bond warrant.

On January 25, 2023- St. Clair County Deputies took a report regarding possible credit card scamming device at Pilot. Device was removed from the diesel pump and the investigation is ongoing.

On January 26, 2023- Hart, Richard was arrested by St. Clair County Deputies on St. Clair County warrant. Richard was released into the custody of the jail staff. He is being held on his warrant for the charge of Possession of Controlled Substance Except 35 Grams or Less of Marijuana/Synthetic Cannabinoid- Felony and Unlawful Possession of Drug Paraphernalia- Misdemeanor. His court date is set for February 2, 2023.

On January 27, 2023- Wetzel, Jahn was arrested by St. Clair County Deputies for driving while intoxicated. St. Clair County Deputies took a report of a vehicle steam/'smoking on NE 401 Rd and C highway. St. Clair Deputies arrived on scene to help the motorist and could smell alcohol on the driver's breath.

On January 27, 2023- St. Clair County Deputies took a report of an abandoned vehicle on NE 251 RD and B highway. St. Clair County Road and Bridge needed a vehicle removed so they could access that part of the road. The vehicle was then towed for the county to maintain the road.

On January 27, 2023- St. Clair County Deputies responded to a domestic disturbance. Subject had left the scene prior to deputies arriving. St. Clair County Deputies took a report of assault and vehicle damage.

On January 27, 2023- Weant, Chelsey was arrested by St. Clair County Deputies. St. Clair County Deputies made a traffic stop on northbound lane of 13 Hwy and SW 1100 Road. Weant was arrested for Driving While Intoxicated. Weant was released to the jail staff for a book and release.

On January 28, 2023- St. Clair County Deputies took a call in reference to stealing. Subject had several unauthorized transactions made to their account.

On January 30, 2023- St. Clair County Deputies took a report of juvenile assault. Information was transferred to the Juvenile Office.

On January 30, 2023- St. Clair County Deputies took a report of a runaway juvenile. St. Clair County Deputies left a message with the subjects juvenile officer.
