Sheriff Lee Hilty would like to share more information about the Text Caster partnership.

Upon signing up for the service, citizens will be able to get alerts on road closings, weather alerts directly from the National Weather Service, ongoing crime situations, and other emergency notifications. This will allow you to have immediate notifications in the event of a wanted person, a dangerous weather situation, and/or general event notifications

We were able to apprehend a fleeing subject within the first two weeks of having Text Caster available!

Arrests 

Sheriff Lee Hilty reported deputies made 8 arrests and took multiple reports during the week of May 24th, 2022 through May 30th, 2022.

Chapman, William- On May 24, 2022, William Chapman, 50, Appleton City, was arrested by St. Clair County Deputies on multiple St. Clair County warrants for Unlawful Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, Delivery of 35 grams or less of marijuana or synthetic cannabinoid, Possession of marijuana/synthetic cannabinoid of 10 grams or less, and Operating a motor vehicle on Highway without a valid license. The total bond set was $12,500.00 cash or surety.

Hutchins, Jessica- On May 24, 2022, Jessica Hutchins, 34, Osceola, was arrested by St. Clair County Deputies on three St. Clair County warrants for Possession of a controlled Substance. The bond was set at $20,000.00 cash only.

Murphy, Darin- On May 25, 2022, Darin Murphy, 47, Elkland, arrested by St. Clair County Deputies for Possession of a Controlled Substance, Unlawful Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, and Unlawful Use of a Weapon. The arrest was made after deputies conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle for defective equipment and expired registration. Upon making contact with the driver of the vehicle, deputies conducted a field sobriety test due to the irregular nature of the driver's behavior. The driver consented to a search of the vehicle where deputies located illegal substances, paraphernalia, and firearms. After the illegal items were seized, Murphy was placed under arrest and transported to the St. Clair County Jail.

Patterson, Daryl- On May 26, 2022, Daryl Patterson, 33, Independence, was arrested by St. Clair County Deputies on a St. Clair County warrant for Felony Non-support. The bond was set at $2,000.00 cash only.

Cowan, Steven- On May 28, 2022, Steven Cowan, 48, Appleton City, was arrested by St. Clair County Deputies on a St. Clair County warrant for 3rd Degree Domestic Assault. The bond was set at $10,000.00 cash or surety.

Kilgore, Rodney- On May 28, 2022, Rodney Kilgore, 61, Lowry City, was arrested by St. Clair County Deputies for Driving While Intoxicated and Driving While Suspended. The arrest was made after deputies responded to a call for service in regards to a possible intoxicated driver. Upon making contact with the driver, deputies could smell the odor of alcohol emitting from the vehicle and performed a Field Sobriety Test on Kilgore. Kilgore was very unsteady on his feet and blew over the legal limit of 0.080 on the Preliminary Breath Test. Kilgore was placed under arrest and transported to the St. Clair County Jail.

McCurley, James- On May 29, 2022, James McCurley, 23, Osceola, was arrested by St. Clair County Deputies on a Polk County warrant for Failure to Appear. The bond was set at $300.00 cash only.

French, Ciera- On May 29, 2022, Ciera French, 21, Nixa, arrested by St. Clair County Deputies on a Christian County warrant for Failure to Appear. The bond was set at $142.00 cash only.
