Text Caster
Sheriff Lee Hilty would like to share more information about the Text Caster partnership.
Upon signing up for the service, citizens will be able to get alerts on road closings, weather alerts directly from the National Weather Service, ongoing crime situations, and other emergency notifications. This will allow you to have immediate notifications in the event of a wanted person, a dangerous weather situation, and/or general event notifications
We were able to apprehend a fleeing subject within the first two weeks of having Text Caster available!

Arrests
Sheriff Lee Hilty reported deputies made 2 arrests and took multiple reports during the week of January 18th, 2022 through January 24th, 2022.
Cox, Shaun- On January 19, 2022, Shaun Cox, 43, Kansas City, was arrested by a St. Clair County Deputy for Driving While Intoxicated. The arrest was made after a deputy conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle and the driver failed multiple field sobriety tests.
Rufenacht, Dean- On January 21, 2022, Dean Rufenacht, 67, Deepwater, was arrested by a St. Clair County Deputy for 1st Degree Harassment. The arrest was made after a deputy responded to a call for service in regards to harassment.
Stolen Property in Deepwater
On Sunday, January 22, 2021 deputies responded to a call for service in regards to stolen property. Upon making contact with the victim, he stated that someone had stolen his Go-Kart and a red 3- wheeler from his property. The Go-kart had a black Briggs & Stratton engine and was valued at $300.00. The 3-wheeler was red and had a roll bar with a white engine and was valued at $500.00. A report was taken and the investigation is still ongoing. .
Burglary in Osceola
On Sunday, January 22, 2021 deputies responded to a call for service in regards to a burglary. Upon making contact with the victim, he stated that someone had broken into his camper and stole several items including miscellaneous hunting equipment, several tools, one Victure game camera, and two Mossy Oak game cameras. The total value of the stolen items was $950.00. A report was taken and the investigation is still ongoing.
