Text Caster 

Sheriff Lee Hilty would like to share more information about the Text Caster partnership.

Upon signing up for the service, citizens will be able to get alerts on road closings, weather alerts directly from the National Weather Service, ongoing crime situations, and other emergency notifications. This will allow you to have immediate notifications in the event of a wanted person, a dangerous weather situation, and/or general event notifications

We were able to apprehend a fleeing subject within the first two weeks of having Text Caster available!

Arrests 

Sheriff Lee Hilty reported deputies made ­­­3 arrests and took multiple reports during the week of September 28th, 2021 through October 4th, 2021.

Holland, Corey- On September 30, 2021, Corey Holland, 21, Springfield, was arrested by a St. Clair county deputy for Driving While Revoked, Resisting Arrest, Reckless Driving, and Speeding. The arrest was made after a deputy was advised of a sports bike that was driving recklessly and traveling at a high rate of speed. When the deputy attempted to make a traffic stop on the sports bike, it accelerated to a higher rate of speed and continued to weave in and out of traffic. The deputies followed Corey until he traveled onto a dead end road where he took off on foot into the woods then later surrendered. Corey was taken into custody and transported to the St. Clair County Jail.

Wilson, Casey- On September 30, 2021, Casey Wilson, 28, Clinton, was arrested by a St. Clair county deputy for Possession of a Controlled Substance and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia. The arrest was made after a deputy conducted a traffic stop on the vehicle for defective equipment and search of the vehicle was conducted.

Foley, Joshua- On October 1, 2021, Joshua Foley, 38, Appleton City, was arrested by a St. Clair county deputy for Trespassing, Stealing, and Possession of a Controlled Substance. The arrest was made after a deputy responded to a call for service in reference to a trespassing.

 

Stealing in Appleton

On Wednesday, September 29, 2021, deputies responded to a call for service in regards to stolen property. Upon making contact with the victim, he reported that his wife heard a sound outside of the house and looked outside and saw an individual run away from their truck and get into a dark color car and drive off. The victim reported that when he started the vehicle the morning after the incident, he could tell that the catalytic converter had been cut off and stolen.  A report was taken and the investigation is still ongoing.
