Text Caster
Sheriff Lee Hilty would like to share more information about the Text Caster partnership.
Upon signing up for the service, citizens will be able to get alerts on road closings, weather alerts directly from the National Weather Service, ongoing crime situations, and other emergency notifications. This will allow you to have immediate notifications in the event of a wanted person, a dangerous weather situation, and/or general event notifications
We were able to apprehend a fleeing subject within the first two weeks of having Text Caster available!

Arrests
Sheriff Lee Hilty reported deputies made 5 arrests and took multiple reports during the weeks of August 17th, 2021 through August 23rd, 2021.
Carter, Bobby- On August 25, 2021, Bobby Carter, 50, Appleton City, was arrested by a St. Clair county deputy for tampering with utility meter 2nd degree.
Nicholls, Kelley - On August 28, 2021, Kelley Nicholls, 51, Springfield, was arrested by a St. Clair county deputy for possession of methamphetamine, and unlawful use of drug paraphernalia. The arrest was made after a deputy conducted a traffic stop, followed by a search on the vehicle done by K-9 Kormi and his handler.
Harper, William- On August 28, 2021, William Harper, 61, Osceola, was arrested by a St. Clair County deputy for driving while intoxicated after a traffic stop was conducted.
Armstrong, Janelle- On August 30, 2021, Janelle Armstrong, 41, Osceola, was arrested by a St. Clair County deputy for 4th degree domestic assault after a deputy responded to a call for service regarding a possible domestic assault in progress.
Jacobs, Ross- On August 30, 2021, Ross Jacobs, 36, Ozark, was arrested by a St. Clair County deputy for a warrant out of St. Clair County for endangering the welfare of the child. The bond was set at $12,500.00 cash or surety.
Burglary in Osceola
On Monday, August 30, 2021 a St. Clair County deputy responded to a call for service regarding some stolen property. Upon arriving to the property the victim reported that someone broke into his residence and two firearms, shotgun shells, and five or six chainsaws were missing from his garage. A report was taken and the investigation is ongoing.
