Text Caster
Sheriff Lee Hilty would like to share more information about the Text Caster partnership.
Upon signing up for the service, citizens will be able to get alerts on road closings, weather alerts directly from the National Weather Service, ongoing crime situations, and other emergency notifications. This will allow you to have immediate notifications in the event of a wanted person, a dangerous weather situation, and/or general event notifications
We were able to apprehend a fleeing subject within the first two weeks of having Text Caster available!

Arrests
Sheriff Lee Hilty reported deputies made eight arrests and took multiple reports during the week of July 6th, 2021 through July 12th, 2021.
Gardner, Johney - On July 6th, Johney Gardner, 54, El Dorado Springs, was arrested by Cass County Sheriff's Office on a St. Clair County Failure to Appear warrant with an original Felony charge of Possession of a Controlled Substance Except 35 Grams or Less of Marijuana/Synthetic Cannabinoid. Johney was transported to the St. Clair County Jail and the bond was set at $5,000.00 cash only.
Mycek, Brandon - On July 7th, Brandon Mycek, 45, Osceola, was arrested by a St. Clair County deputy for an Infraction of Trespassing - 2nd Degree. Brandon was transported to the St. Clair County Jail and held on a 24 hour hold.
Watkins, Kyle - On July 7th, Kyle Watkins, 35, Elk Grove, was arrested by a St. Clair County deputy on a St. Clair County warrant for a Felony charge of Tampering with Motor Vehicle - 1st Degree. The bond was set at $7,500.00 cash or surety.
Seek, James - On July 8th, James Seek, 35, Collins, was arrested by a St. Clair County Deputy on a Felony charge of Property Damage - 2nd Degree. James was booked and released pending formal charges.
Brown, James - On July 9th, James Brown, 28, Lake of the Ozarks, was arrested at the St. Clair County Courthouse on a St. Clair County Failure to Appear Misdemeanor Traffic Warrant. James was transported to the St. Clair County Jail and the bond was set at $250.00 cash or surety.
Harrison, Leslie - On July 9th, Leslie Harrison, 29, Flemington, was arrested at the St. Clair County Courthouse on a St. Clair County Failure to Appear Ordinance for Speeding in a School Zone 16-20 Mph Over. Leslie was transported to the St. Clair County Jail and the bond was set at $150.00 cash only.
Collins, Steven - On July 9th, Steven Collins, 34, Lowry City, was arrested by a St. Clair County deputy on two St. Clair County warrants. The first is for a Felony charge of Possession of a Controlled Substance Except 35 Grams or Less of Marijuana/Synthetic Cannabinoid, and a Felony charge of Unlawful Possession of a Firearm. The second is a Failure to Appear on a Misdemeanor charge of Driving While Revoked/ Suspended - 1st Offense.
Willis, Rocky - On July 10th, Rocky Willis, 43, Osceola, was arrested by a St. Clair County deputy on a Misdemeanor charge of Possession of Marijuana/Synthetic Cannabinoid of 10 Grams or Less - Prior Drug Offense, a Misdemeanor charge of Unlawful Possession of Drug Paraphernalia - Prior Drug Offense, and a Felony charge of Possession of a Controlled Substance Except 35 Grams or Less of Marijuana/Synthetic Cannabinoid. Rocky was booked and released pending formal charges.
The arrest was made after the vehicle that Rocky was the passenger of, was stopped for a registration violation. During the stop, K9 Officer Havik was called to the location and alerted to the odor of narcotics in the vehicle, and after Rocky exited the vehicle, Havik also alerted to the grass that Rocky was walking on. A quantity of crystal substance that field tested positive for methamphetamine, a quantity of marijuana, and rolling papers were found in the search of the vehicle and Rocky's person.
