Concealed Weapons Permits

New Carry Concealed Weapons (CCW) Permit Applicant Process

Applicants must be at least 19 years old to apply for a CCW Permit

Applicants must take a class from an approved instructor.

After the class, call the St. Clair County Sheriff's Office, 417-646-2565, to set up an appointment to apply. The administration office is open Monday-Friday, 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Applicants need to bring the following to the appointment:

-Certificate of qualification from approved instructor of CCW class.

-$65 check made payable to the St.Clair County Sheriff's Office or cash.

-Valid Missouri driver's license or ID card.

-Voter ID card from St. Clair County

Renewal of CCW Process

-CCW permits may be renewed up to 30-days before the expiration date.

-Set up an appointment with the Sheriff's Office.

-The fee is $50 payable with check made to the St. Clair County Sheriff's Office, or cash.

-Those renewing must bring their current CCW license.

Acceptable Training for CCW

-Certificate of qualification from an approved instructor.

-Retirement credentials for commissioned officers.

-Letter from police agency stating that you are a commissioned officer with their agency so long as the Sheriff of St. Clair County approves it.
