The charges come after a St. Clair County deputy tried to stop the vehicle that Jones was driving for a traffic violation. Jones failed to yield to the deputy on 13 Highway and continued through Lowry City. Jones lost control of the vehicle and ended up going off the road and through a fence. The driver and passenger of the vehicle bailed out on foot and tried to elude the deputies. A search of the immediate area resulted in finding Jones and the passenger trying to hide in the creek. Both parties were taken into custody.
