Additional Information

The charges stem from an investigation on July 24, 2017 when St. Clair County deputies assisted the Mid Missouri Multi Jurisdiction Drug Task Force with executing a search warrant at a residence on West Miller Street, Appleton City. During the investigation it was determined DeForrest also currently reside at the home and shares a bedroom with Bertha Lockwood.

During the search two plastic bags containing a crystalline substance were located in a pair of jean shorts with DeForrest’s wallet attached by a chain. A back pack containing a used hypodermic syringe, a spoon, and a straw with a white powdery substance was also located in their room. An envelope addressed to DeForrest was located inside the back pack. The substance inside one of the plastic bags and the straw field tested positive for the presence of methamphetamine.
