Additional Information

The charge stems from an investigation on Oct. 27, when a St. Clair County deputy was dispatched to a found property call on NE Highway 82. Once on scene, the deputy observed a Brush Hog three point finish mower off of the back of a tractor. The mower had two flat tires on the front and a wheel appeared damaged as if it had been pulled down the road.

It was learned the mower belonged to Charles Barnes and was stolen with a tractor it was hooked to from his property on NE 270 Road, Osceola. The tractor was described as a gray and red 8N Ford tractor with newer paint and new rear tires. It was later recovered in Twin Oaks Harbor, Lowry City, at an abandoned residence. Information was learned the tractor was seen being driven on U Highway followed by a dark colored car on Oct. 26. The total value of the tractor and mower was estimated $3,500 and suspects were named.
