Additional Information

The charges stem from a St. Clair County Sheriff’s Office investigation on Oct. 9 when Whitlow fled from a deputy at a high rate of speed on NE 1270 Road when an attempt to make contact was made regarding a tail light being out. Deputies followed Whitlow for approximately 16 miles in the north part of St. Clair County. Speeds reached over 75 miles per hour on some of the gravel roads. He drove through four stop signs and was spinning tires, sliding around corners, and driving on the wrong side of the road.

The vehicle wrecked on F Highway and Whitlow was taken into custody. Deputies located a fixed blade knife with a five-inch blade concealed in one of Whitlow’s boots. They also located a clear glass pipe with burnt residue inside and a small plastic bag with a white powdery substance on his person. Both the pipe and bag field tested positive for methamphetamine.
